R: Pranam Guruji, sadar charan sparsh, 2 years ago I had asked one question regarding direction for doing jap of maa gayatri..Thank you for the kind advice… One thing I noticed in myself that my white part of eye color turns yellow since I had started the jap in my childhood (when I was 12 year old, now I am 26 years) and it turn dark yellow in sun light. I had consulted a doctor regarding this in 15 years of age and physician said its normal and last year I also consulted another doctor regarding this, and he told me that its due to dust particles and prescribed an eye drop, but the eye drop was of no use… and I wanted to know that is this due to the Gayatri sadhana
or anything else. Due to this once a thought to leave this sadhana. But this sadhana is my life and I can not leave it, guruji kindly guide me what i have to do. Thanking you
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. You are welcome, please. Gayatri sadhna and name jaap of God and yajyen or practice of Ashtang Yoga, do not change the colour of eyes. As doctors have advised it may be due to dust particles. However, you are advised to put honey (pure) in your eyes and apply it with your clean fingers, just like kaajal is applied, daily. Although, it would be little painful and cause watering of eyes but after sometime it will soothe your eyes. Use it early in the morning and before going to bed, at night. In addition, you may also apply medicines prescribed by the doctor but an interval should be kept, at least for two hours between application of honey and medicine. Please, see to it that honey is pure.
Raja: In puran, manu smriti..and other religious granth why it is told to conserve veerya?
Swami Ram Swarup: Atharvaveda state that Brahamcharya is the manni (priceless gem)
which keeps the person away from several diseases, increases memory and gives long life. Actually, it gives several benefits that is why, Ved-Shastras and other holy granths preach to maintain Brahamchharya.
I would advise you to read my book “Brahamcharya- Dukh Nivarak Divya Manni” (in Hindi) worth Rs. 100/- excluding postal charges. The book can be sent to you on receipt of your postal address, if you desire. In which you would get immense knowledge in detail about Brahamcharya.
M: Pranam Swamiji, I have a six year old son. Please advice me on parenting the child so that the child always do pious deeds in his whole life. Moreover, how to make him chant Gayatri mantra daily? He does not understand the meaning of formless God, vedas or he cannot read everything. Till what age we can make the base of child’s future and how?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. You are advised to first take care of health of your child and give him balanced diet. Massage with mustard oil should be done, once in a day, with daily bath after one hour of massage. Parents should never quarrel or make use of any abusive/loud language in front of child. Parents and family members should always do pious/good deeds before the child because child always copies the adults. Now, while going to bed, some brave historical stories (Veergatha) and story of Sri Ram, Sri Krishna Maharaj, Mata Sita, Rishi-Munis should be narrated before the child. Avoid bad programs of T.V. Parents should do daily havan with Gayatri mantra along with the child. Then child will automatically start reciting Gayatri mantra
along with other mantras automatically and easily. Some spiritual Vedic books with easy comments on Ved mantras should be narrated to him just after finishing the havan. Always watch your son that while going to school or after school time, he does not make contact with bad society. Water has been told by Atharvaveda like a medicine to all. So, always try that your son takes sufficient water right from morning till the time of going to bed. Attend Vedic satsang with your son. Educate him that he does Namaste to everybody, when he meets them. Now, this is the time of your child (in between six to eight years) to make the base to further make his future bright. You should now make contact with local Arya Samaj mandir and request them to perform Upnayan sanskar of your child. When, he will be of eight years of age then you must sure do his Vedarambh sanskar. In this way, your child will automatically be able to understand the Vedas and that God is formless. I am away and cannot teach you all from here. So please make contact with local Arya samaj and try to attend hawan with them on holidays etc.
M: Pranam swamiji, How do we chant Gayathri Mantra alongwith meaning?Also, how do we chant OM? Should I chant loudly or within heart. I can chant without being vocal. Is it the right way? Which is the vedic book (written by you) to be read first for those who are unaware of vedas? Then which are the books which guides how to burn sins of present and past lives? Which is the vedic book to be taught to 6 year old child to make him aware of vedas?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Process of chanting along with word by word
meaning is always learnt personally from a learned acharya (Guru). Similarly, chanting of Om is also learnt personally from Acharya. When Gayatri mantra or Om is to be uttered for doing its jaap then the same are uttered by heart only. When the same are to be uttered while performing havan, then same are chanted loudly but not much loudly. That is why, I am advising you to learn it from a learned acharya in person.
