PM: Pranam Guruji. I am glad that Guruji himself has given reply to my question. I am also excited that Guruji welcomed me to attend the vedas & Yoga programme . I therefore request Guruji to kindly approve my schedule of stay so that I can plan accordingly well in advance.
Moreover Guruji I have a question. After going through your Philosopy, I learned that it is essential to have daily yajyen/hawan, name jaap of God, hard practice of Ashtang Yoga . After knowing the same, I am littlebit confused as presently I am taking Sarala Yoga (Raja Yoga” from my Guruji. Sarala Yoga teaches a very simple meditation for minimum 30minutes to one hour on daily basis along with Daily Prayer and weekly Satsanf and as per HIM, nothing further is required. So Guruji kindly resolve my confusion.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.You are welcome here, always. I shall be available after the indicated date. Boarding and lodging are free of cost here, for everyone. So, you may plan accordingly.
When you will come here then all your doubts will be cleared based on the eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanates directly from God.
Whatever, I’ve been preaching, all is according to Vedas. Vedas also tell that we’ve to obey the Vedic path. The worship and deeds which do not tally with the Vedas, the same are not recommended/accepted by ancient and present Rishi, Munis, Yogis.
Navin: Pranam Swamiji, Jay Shree Krishna. According to Ved there is no question of shrad and it is well know facts because soul has no relation with other soul as it is indep[endent
In Bhavisaya puran, In Markandaya puran there is still narration on sharads so they differ with ved and both purans are well known. Evem maharshee sumant and maharshee Jabli and maharshi Hemandri all three noted maharshi has recited about shrads, as such there is reason for my confusion otherwise these maharshis are very well know and learned of veda I read more then 12 books on shrads of very learned person and all of them has show that there are 12 types of shrads.
Veda is is a subject of trust and shradha and as veda was spread from mouth to mouth there is no proof as it is not in the paper, kmore ever every mouth has added some when it spread as such in reality we are confused, see stephen hofkins remark that god has not created the universal it is science, physics has created. Before human life on the earth there were dev and danavs in the swarg like wise we have several danavs like e ravan, kansh, tripurasura etc those danavs were against the religion where as this danavs are earning their bread from our god, let god bless them.
Now let us discuss new issue.
What is varn as stated brahamin, vanik, khatris and shrudras?
In mahabharat kuru kul is what ? start from maharshi parashar, ved vyas?
Who introduce this varn system british ruler introduce slavery system which was lifted during 1834, they brought this system because they want to rule world in same manner who brought this varn system Waiting for new discussion reply. Once again pranam and jai shree kishna
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.
All the views, deeds and worship etc., if do not tally with the Vedas then the same is not accepted by ancient as well as present learneds, being unauthentic. So, no question arises for any purann etc,. For example – If in any book, shradh is promoted then definitely it is against the eternal knowledge of Vedas, which emanates directly from God.
In the ancient culture, like 10,000 original shlokas of Mahabharat and Valmiki Ramayan, no Rishi has told about shradh. So, it is not accepted by learneds of Vedas that Mahrishi Sumant, Jabali, Hemandri ever performed shradh. Here, this point should be cleared that person is called a Rishi when he after studying Vedas, doing name jaap, hawan, Yajyen and hard practice of Ashtang Yoga; attains Dharmamegh Samadhi wherein he realises Almighty God and sees ved mantras. Secondly, as per Atharvaveda mantra 4/30/3 Almighty God manifests within the Rishi and God Himself awards the title of Rishi, Brahmin etc., to that dignitary. That is why, Rishis are called Mantra drashta i.e., he who has seen ved mantras within him, as quoted above. So, how can a Rishi disobey Vedas. You see, there are several saints who have added elaborate titles like Rishi etc., to their names but they’ve not studied Vedas, so no question of realization of God and ved mantras. Otherwise, they could promote eternal Vedic culture and teach. The public to perform daily hawan, name jaap and practice of Ashtang Yoga philosophy which are main teachings of vedas in the matter of worship. Instead, so called saints start telling that Vedas, Yajyen, hawan, practice of Ashtang Yoga is not needed, being difficult. I also paste my article regarding shradh.
SHRADH
At the time of death, the soul comes out of the body and when a person is dead, his body is burnt on pyre. When soul resides in human body, person uses his mouth to eat, ear to listen, eye to see, hand to work, legs to move etc. Now the body has been burnt and the soul remains alone. Alone soul can do nothing but remains in the stage of Sushupt i.e., like in coma. Then after thirteen days, the soul takes rebirth. So how the dead person would eat the food which is made for him during Shradh. So Shradh is not mentioned in Vedas. Vedic meaning of Shradh is to serve the alive parents and elders by providing them with food, bedding and necessary goods etc., faithfully and lovingly.
Anna Daan/Shradh to departed soul
Vedas are eternal knowledge which emanate direct from God at the beginning of every universe. Being the knowledge direct from God, each statement of Ved mantra is also eternal truth.
Thirty-ninth chapter of Yajurveda states about death. The soul when leaves the human body remains under control of a divine air named “Sutratma vayu”. Mantras tell that after wandering unconsciously for thirteen days in the space and planets like Sun, moon, etc., soul comes again on this earth inside the vegetation. Then either the soul enters the male living being’s body according to pious deeds and sins through pores or is duly mixed within vegetation and taken by a male person. Then the soul takes rebirth through parents.
This process is an eternal truth. However, if soul is religious and has done hard tapasya then the soul gets salvation. Only soul has to face the result of previous lives’ deeds through living being’s body. Since soul is alive whereas body is non-alive matter. So body does not face the result of deeds. When soul has gone out of body then how the soul will see, hear, taste, smell or touch or will be benefited of any pious deed etc.? therefore Vedas do not tell about the present system of shradh etc.
However, the pious deeds done to remember the departed soul by means of devotion or organizing the holy Yajyen with Ved mantras, its result never goes in vain and the family is benefited.
Departed soul never meets again please. Even departed soul, when take rebirth, forgets every event of his previous life. As regards dreams Atharvaveda states that dreams of departed soul are not good so it is in your interest and welfare that you do not see dreams.
Vedas are not the subject of trust only.
Rigveda mantra 1/164/16 says “Akshanvaan Pashyat Na Vi Chetat Andhaha” that is, he who knows eternal knowledge of Vedas, has been performing Yagya (Yajna) and practised Yoga Philosophy, he realises God and he who is lack of the same knowledge cannot. Yajurveda mantra 6/5 says” Suryaha Vishnoho Praramam Padam Sada Pashyanti”
That is Suryaha( Philosopher of Vedas and does Yoga) ever sees(realises) the Almighty and Omnipresent God. Yajurveda mantra 40/13 says “Dheeranam Tat Shushrum”. Dheeranam means he who knows Vedas and practices Ashtang Yoga and realises God, so meaning of mantra is that we, aspirants have been listening about Almighty God from Dheeranam and like this, there are so many other remaining ved mantras, who clarify that based on the knowledge of Vedas, he who does Yagya and practice of Ashtang yoga is capable to realise the secret of Prakriti, souls and Almighty God. This is called Traitwad because it has got three eternal subjects cited later. Our ancient Rishis have preached that to know the truth, there are four authentic proofs, as also said by Patanjali Rishi in his Yog shastra sutra 1/7-
“PRATYAKSHANUMANAAGAMAHA PRAMANNANI”.
So in aagam pramaan, there are two pramaan(proofs) to realise truth:
1. “Aaptopdeshaha Shabdaha” (Sankhya shastra sutra 1/66). That is a Rishi who knows Vedas and has realized God by practicing Ashtang Yoga, is considered a proof to realise truth of traitwad cited above, which means that whatever he says is true, because he only says his experience of Samadhi (salvation) and hard study of Vedas and practical yajyen that is why, Kapil muni has told in his said sutra that the preach of such Rishis is true and is considered a proof to determine the truth.
2. Second proof in Aagam pramaan is- Four Vedas but Vedas have not been written by any Rishi etc. Vedas are the knowledge originated in the heart of four Rishis at the time of creation. So, Vedas are considered as “Swataha pramaan” (self-proof) being the knowledge direct from the God. So, Vedas need no proof. On this matter of Vedas, there are so many ved mantras like Yajurveda mantra 31/7. The said mantras says that Rigveda, Samveda, Atharvaveda and Yajurveda is the eternal knowledge from God, that is, Vedas emanated direct from God, so are self proof, that is why, Rishi Patanjali says in his Yoga Shastra Sutra-1/26.
“Saha Eshah Poorvesham Api Guruhu Kalenaan Avachedat” that is the Almighty God is the first Guru of the ancient Rishi at the time of first non-sexual creation. The God by His power originated the knowledge of four Vedas in the heart of four Rishis and thereafter the Rishi-munis of such qualities have been our Guru. Vyas muni commenting on this Sutra 1/26 says that at the time of creation, there was no Guru to give knowledge to the persons because every Rishi left his body in the previous creation, which creation had been destroyed in the final destruction of universe (Pralaya) and as a principle, until knowledge is given by anybody, the knowledge cannot be attained. So our first Guru is Almighty God, Him self who gave the knowledge of four Vedas, which was followed by our ancient Rishis traditionally and we have to follow to maintain the eternal culture and realise Prakriti, soul and God, being the main objective of this human life. Therefore, in the whole world, that path or the knowledge is true which tallies with four Vedas. This fundamental law of God must be known by everybody seriously to reach the truth. Unluckily, most of the saints are talking at their own accord and what a wonder even that they usually tell not to study the Vedas, not to perform the holy Yagna and not to follow the Yoga Philosophy; which are against the Vedas, the knowledge of God.
VEDAS ARE SELF PROOF AND THE BOOKS OF RISHIS ARE ALSO THE PROOF, AFTER VEDAS.
Therefore we must accept the above eternal facts to determine the truth. It means at present also, any view or any statement in the present book are considered true if it tallies with Vedas and the books written by Rishis, otherwise not this eternal tradition was adopted in the ancient times. As a result, the public mostly remained away from illusion.
In Yajurveda mantra 31/7, it is clearly mentioned that the Vedvani emanates direct from God. Yagvalkya Rishi in his Smriti tells his wife Matryi that in the beginning of every creation this formless Vani emanates from formless Almighty God in the heart of four gentlemen selected by God from the previous creation in which they were topmost in Tapsya and good conduct etc. That is why automatically they are called Rishis with their names – Agni, Vaayu, Aditya and Angira. As the breath comes out from man similarly Ved mantras emanate from God. As outer breath is inhaled in the body so the Vedas are inhaled in God at the time of final destruction. {Please remember God is formless and has no mouth etc. This is an example and comparison only to enable us to understand the origination of eternal knowledge of Vedas otherwise neither it is exhaled nor inhaled from God.}
Further, in the heart of each of the four Rishis mentioned above, one Veda is originated without writing and without preaches. How? God is formless and Almighty, i.e., has all powers and does not require any assistance, i.e., God does not require any assistance from any Yamraj, any Yamdoot to get the soul out from any person, He does not require any assistance from any Indra, to shower water in the shape of rain, does not require any priest or preacher or Guru etc., to preach the religion to anybody because He is Almighty, He is always independent and His powers alone create and do all deeds etc., automatically.
Secondly, Rigveda mantra 10/109/1,2 states that the knowledge of Vedas emanates direct from God and originated in the heart of four rishis. Originated means the knowledge was not given orally or in the shape of writing because Almighty God is Formless and has no mouth and hands etc., to speak and write etc. The knowledge of Vedas, was given in the beginning of the creation when all the human-beings –men and women were illiterate/ignorant.
The fundamental in the shape of the Vedas, cannot be changed because the teachings of the Rishi to their disciples used to be always complete and correct in all respects. You see, when a Maths/science teacher, teaches formula of algebra, physics or chemistry and a brilliant student grasps it, how can the student change the formula. The said thought is purely man-made. So, we can guess that how the fundamentals mentioned in Vedas can be changed by a learned Rishi.
You see Rishi is he who after studying Vedas, doing name jaap, hawan, Yajyen and hard practice of Ashtang Yoga; attains Dharmamegh Samadhi wherein he realises Almighty God and sees ved mantras. So, the title of Rishi is awarded by Almighty God and the rule/process is still in vogue, being eternal and everlasting. Regarding Varnna I paste my article below:-
“BRAHMANNOASYA MUKHMASEED BAHU RAJANAYAH KRITAH,
UROO TADSYA YADVAISHYAH PADBHYAAM SHUDRO AJAAYAT.”
(Yajurveda mantra 31/11)
Oh! Aspirant (ASYA) in this God’s universe (BRAHMANNAHA) the learned of Vedas and who has realised God (MUKHMASEET) is supreme like a mouth i.e., the knower of Vedas and Almighty God is respectable in this world like a mouth and he is called Brahmin. (BAHU) he who is powerful i.e., has powerful arms (KRITAH) he has been made (RAJANYAH) kshatriye (Tad) he in this universe (ASEET) is (VAISHYAH) is called (Vaishya) i.e., businessman (YAT) Who (UROO) does deeds like (UROO) thighs
i.e., he has the power in his thighs to travel here and there quickly for business. (PADBHYAAM) having qualities of service and without pride. (AJAAYAT) generates (SHUDRAH) the man who has no education and good qualities etc.
Meaning – Oh! Aspirant, in this God’s universe the learned of Vedas and who has realised God is supreme like a mouth i.e., the knower of Vedas and Almighty God is respectable in this world like a mouth and he is called Brahmin, he who is powerful i.e., has powerful arms has been made kshatriye. He in this universe is called Vaishya i.e., businessman who does deeds like thighs i.e., he has the power in his thighs to travel here and there quickly for business. He who has qualities of service and without pride generates the man who has no education and good qualities etc.
Four Ashrams
There are four ashrams in the life, Brahamcharya ashram up to age of 25 years, Grihastha ashram up to 50 years, Vanprasth ashram up to 75 years and Sanyas ashram up to 100 years. So one should try to discharge his duties of every ashram knowing duties thereof and then must take sanyas, but if anybody else is interested to take sanyas being ascetic by true speech etc., then he can take sanyas even at an early age.
I have already written about caste system (varn vyavastha). Yajurveda mantra 31/11 says that caste is based on present deeds (karmas) and not by birth. The sense of Mantra is that if a son of shudra studies Vedas, controls senses/organs and mind, does practice of Ashtang yoga, then he will be considered Brahmin and a Brahmin who has no such qualities he will be treated as shudra etc., etc. There is no caste system in Vedas based on birth and the other holy books like Manusmriti, six shastras, Upnishads, Valmiki Ramayana, Mahabharat (Bhagwad Geeta) etc., were written by ancient Rishis/Munis based on only the knowledge of Vedas, so no caste system exists therein based on birth.
In this connection Yajurveda mantra 31/11 also says that he who knows Vedas and God, he is Brahmin being most supreme in the world like a mouth in the body. So anyone (of any caste) can be a Brahmin by hard studies of Vedas, practising Ashtang yoga therein and thus realizing God. One who has physical power in his arms, he is Kashtriye-Rajput to protect the country. So anyone can be a Rajput, holding the said qualities. One who has powers in his thighs to travel and to do hard work to establish business, he is Vaishya (businessman). One who has not studied, based on his qualities that he could not gain the qualities of Brahmin, Kashtriye and Vaishya, he is shudra (may be of any caste).
There is a symbolic story in Mahabharat. That once Yudhistar saw that his brother Bhima was caught by a huge python. Yudhistar asked python that my brother is a great warrior having sufficient power that you could not catch him. So really you are not python, tell me, who you are. Python replied that he was a yaksha. O Yudishtar, if you would answer my question, then your brother would be released. Yaksha asked Yudhistar that if a son of Brahmin takes wine, meat, gambles and does bad deeds then whether he will be considered as Brahmin and when a shudra (lowest caste) reads Vedas, does practice of Ashtang yoga, controls his five senses, five organs and mind and does always pious deeds then whether the son of such shudra will remain shudra? Yudhistar replied that the Brahmin will be treated as shudra and shudra will be treated as Brahmin.
King Janak called all the emperors/anybody to break the bow to prove to be the best powerful emperor amongst all to marry his daughter Sita. So King Janak did not make any objection of caste system. So was the case of marriage of Draupadi where in the dress of a Brahmin Arjuna pierced the eye of the fish with arrow and Yudhistar married Draupadi. Draupadi was daughter of Khastriye, Rajput whereas in the dress, Yudhistar was Brahmin. So qualities are to be checked either of boy or girl.
Caste System
Caste system has not been made by God. So punishment etc., mentioned by people in caste system were against the Vedas and every spiritual book but now its all okay as per Government. But yet the hundred percent implementation of govt. orders is to be made.
Holy books cannot give an order to anyone to avoid preach to any cost because preaches like Vedas or other holy books are for human beings/souls and not for any special caste. But better if society will help. Such things are occurring only due to lack of study of Vedas, please.
So at present spreading of knowledge of Vedas will sure finish the ravages of hatred. When sun rises, the darkness of the night is over, similarly when knowledge of the Vedas will spread, the illusion will automatically be over. When sun rises, the darkness from the earth is removed from that portion only which comes towards sun. And rest of the portion remains dark. Similarly wherever the vedic knowledge will spread and be gained, the ignorance/illusion from those human beings will be over. Therefore spreading of knowledge of Vedas and other holy books, is must.
Kuru means “karma karo” do hardworking. According to Mahabharat Kuruvansh applies for both Pandavas and Kauravas.
Answer has been given above. Again, my blessings to you.
