Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Atharvaveda mantra 8/8/7 states- Devta of this mantra is Indra. Here, the meaning of Indra is a king who destroys the enemies. There is no vedic sky God- Indra. Vedas tell us that swarg (heaven) and Narak (hell) are present on this earth itself based on pious deeds and sins. So, the idea of the mantra is that a king should establish his army in a large scale and thus he should be a powerful king. He should be victorious by defeating thousand’s and lakhs of enemies. The said translation is Vedic and unchangeable on the earth.

Swami Ram Swarup: Namaste. Geography is mentioned in Vedas but there is no history or proper noun in them except the names of Almighty God. As regards names of river- Ganga, Yamuna etc., these are not proper noun of the rivers. For example- Rigveda mantra 10/75/5 defines Ganga as a river which starts from mountains and enters into ocean. So, every river of the world which originates from mountains and ends in ocean is called Ganga. So, Ganga is not a proper noun. Similarly, the name of fruits, food grains etc. Similarly, the names of animals like dogs, cows etc.
Shubham: Which slok was spoken by Gargi to Janak?
Swami Ram Swarup: Several questions were put by Gargi in shastrarath before Yagvalkya Muni and not King Janak. It is all mentioned in Brihadarranyakopnishad.
