Swami Ram Swarup: In this regard, I paste my article:-
HOW TO DO HAVAN
Please sit in the morning to perform havan. Havan must be in sunlight then it is more beneficial. Then half a bowl of fresh water with a tablespoon must be with you with small twigs especially of mango tree if possible, havan samagri, ghee, camphor and match box must be there with you. Please sit on sukh asan on four times folded blanket and blanket must be on mat.
Sukh asan i.e., sit on duly folded feet in comfortable position. Then first close your eyes and concentrate between two eyebrows and chant Gayatri mantra three times within heart and not by mouth. Then open your eyes.
Take one spoon of water in right palm. Chant this mantra, OM AMRITO UPASTRANMASI SWAHA and drink the water which you have put in your palm. Then again take the spoon of water in right palm then chant the next mantra, OM AMRITA APIDHANMASI SWAHA, and drink the water. Then again take the water in right palm and chant the mantra, OM SATYAM YASHAH SHRI MAYI SHRI SHRAYTAAM SWAHA, and drink the water. Then wash the right palm while sitting, with the same water kept in bowl.
Then put the twigs into havan kund with one piece of camphor and burn it. During this process chant the Gayatri mantra again and again till such time the fire is lighted sufficiently. Then chant the Gayatri mantra and at the last add the word Swaha and offer ghee with tablespoon, quantity equivalent to 4 to 5 drops. And if you are alone then also offer in fire pinch of havan samagri from your right hand’s finger and thumb avoiding forefinger. So this offering may be of 11 times, 21 times or 51 times as the time suits. It is the simplest way and I have not quoted the complete method of Yajna. The havan with Ved mantras are always offered as the best worship of God only please. Do havan daily and both times.
You may start this and then send query if any.
Bipin: Param pujaya Guruji, our charan sparsh & dandawat pranam at your pious feet. With your blessings we are fine. It was pleasure to participate in recent book fair/exhibition in Mumbai where we had kept books of Ved Mandir. I am obliged to you to provide opportunity to do this pious work. Actual location was in Goregaon (E) suburban of Mumbai. It was organized by one local NGO called Hindu Voice and there was no entry fee or rent for this. This was their first effort to organize such fair. We will keep in touch with them to participate in all their future exhibitions. Actually location was in one school were classroom were provided to participants. In fact location was in some interior where crowd participation looked meager since if it had
been in open ground or in prime area more crowd can come. But it was bliss that we got good response from visitors. Local Arya Samaj had also participated. We briefed them about Ved-Mandir, books written by your good self including Bhagwat Geeta based on Ved Mantras. When they referred Bhagwat Geeta they were very impressed and were of the opinion that they have not seen Bhagwat Geeta like this till date
giving proof of numerous Ved Mantras, yog shashtra sutra etc. Hence they purchase entire set of this from us. We have exchanged our contact nos. and they said that they would like to keep books of Ved Mandir in their future endeavors. Another thing was that in this area most of visitors were local who preferred books in their language i.e. Marathi. Guruji, all remaining books are kept at my residence and we will participate at such book fair whenever it comes here. There was immense help by Guruprasadji who came right away from Bangalore to help in this fair. It was pleasant time with him, we together did Agnihotra both times at my residence, shared our views and discussed Vedas knowledge taught by your good self to us. Also Ramprasadji were available throughout three days and were very helpful. I will continue my work of translating Vedas Divine Light part-I in Gujarati. From last few days due to audit work in office I am reaching late at home so not able to do this work but from next week I will get time and will continue this work. At present I have completed nearly 13 pages. I am writing translation in a book and if possible my wife will type it in Gujarati font in computer and create a file. We will reach Ved Mandir on the indicated date. Please advice. Pranam, Guruji. With charan Sparsh at your pious feet.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you all, my son. Your services in book fair are highly appreciated my son. And I hope you will always devote your time in spreading vedic culture.
