Nothando: How is light connected to peace in the Hindu religion?
Swami Ram Swarup: God is the form of divine light that is why; He gives light to sun, moon, stars etc., while meditating a Yogi, with closed eyes, sees light within him. I mean to say, God is light and God is form of divine pleasure, peace also. So, when a Yogi sees light, it means He has attained divine peace.

Swami Ram Swarup: “Pitr Dosh”
Pitr means those who look after us to educate, to nurse, and to protect us etc. So the said dignitaries are mother, father, grandfather, elders, acharya, etc. Hence, the pitr who have gone to heavenly abode, for those no pitr dosh is there.
Vedas are eternal knowledge direct from God wherein such kaal sarp yog, pitr dosh etc., are not mentioned, so you need not to worry. Daily havan even with Gayatri mantra, which is a great worship of God will give you benefit. The meaning of kaal is also time. So death comes according to time for which the God has given life to us. This is all based on our previous lives’ pious deeds and sins. So there is no effect of kaal sarp yog, pitr dosh etc., in the life, but effect of deeds (karmas) only. So, one must always do pious deeds to be happy. Present pious deeds can burn our previous deeds also and life’s time can also be extended wide Yajurveda mantra 3/62.

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. In this life, we have to face only the result of our previous lives’ deeds. We all living beings are souls and not body. The body is awarded by God according to our previous lives’ deeds. So, child is also soul and only soul has to face the result of pious deeds or sins through body to come in the womb of mother, soul bears the jatharagni and is kept upside down in the womb. It is also a part of facing the previous lives’ deeds.
So, the soul with body when is called “Died” even after taking birth or in case of abortion, he has faced his deeds.
