Anonymous: My mother has lost her cool and has become abusive towards all of us. My father has lost his faith. He used to be very devoted towards Hanumanji but he has lost his faith on God.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you all, my daughter. Really, it is a troublesome matter for you and I am also worried to read all about your mother. Still you see all this happens due to previous lives’ deeds. So, in the matter of faith we have to solve all the problems with knowledge and not with worried mind or in sorrowful condition. We should also not worry about neighbours or others that what would they think, since everybody should be away from praise and criticism. Then we may be able to solve the problem with peace of mind. We should also never be angry with mother and should solve the matter always with peace of mind and knowledge because she is facing the result of her past deeds and with all love we must try to remove the effect of her deeds.
Presently, we should not teach her to stop using abusive language etc., because she would never agree to accept any preach. On the contrary, we must teach her spiritual matter. You may request her in pleasant and loving manner to do name jaap daily. Then after sometime, we can request her to chant Gayatri mantra and thereafter to do havan with Gayatri mantra. The extract of incidents of Sri Ram’s preach to Mata Sita and Sita’s talk with Sri Ram from Ramayan should be told to her but not in a preaching mood or giving any instance of her bad behaviour. Religious matter should be taught totally separately. My blessings to you.
D S: What time should I wake up in morning to do meditation? What will I become in my career and how to build my talent?
Swami Ram Swarup: In this connection, I paste one of my articles below. After studying the article if you still have any query, you may send it to me, please.
Building interest in studies
It is a moral duty of a student to concentrate on hard study and to look after his health. Avoid bad society always concentrate on your Brahmacharya. Awake early in the morning and after bath- brush etc., do holy name jaap of God at least for 15 minutes. Go for morning walk and light exercises daily. Take plenty of water i.e., at least 15 -to 20 glasses in a day. Always respect your parents, elders and teachers. Must be soft spoken, avoid TV so as not to see bad scenes, films etc. this all will help you to concentrate in your study. Whatever you study and learn, try to write on rough book a lot without seeing books etc. I have written a book on Brahmacharya in Hindi, that can be sent free of cost to you. The book is specially meant for students.
Please try to study Vedas and holy books which throw light on worship and moksh. I’ll also advice you to study my 2 or 3 books on spiritualism based on Vedas, shastras etc., in Hindi, if possible. Always do pious deeds and try to recite Gayatri mantra both times and do havan from Gayatri mantra. Try to learn asan, pranayaam and meditation locally.
It depends on your nature/choice that what you want to become in future. Please, choose your target and go ahead i.e., do remain steadfast on your firm decision and hard-working. Then sure God will help you.
As regards daily routine, I paste one of my answers to the question below-
get up early in the morning with a firm decision.
only 8-10 asans are sufficient devoting 1 ½ minutes for each asan. It means 15 minutes are sufficient.
Prannayam, at the young age requires 10 minutes only.
Meditation is sufficient for 45 minutes.
cycling and jogging must be given 20-20 minutes each. Because a student always requires good health which in turn depends on light exercise to be done daily.
Then, after taking rest for about 20 minutes in which you can do study etc., bath must be taken. Then hawan, prayer etc., would require about ½ an hour.
So, all the activities would be completed by about say 8 ‘O’ clock in the morning.
So, you can start study if time suits you keeping in view, the college time.
Then take break for half an hour . In this time, you may lie on bed with close eyes but do not try to sleep. It is also o.k. to study from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Then you can study from 9.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. at least and then you can go to sleep.

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. nahin, aisa sambhav nahin hota, kisi ki kisi ko nazar kabhi nahi lagti. Har ek insaan apne karmon ka hi phal bhogta hai. Maan lo koi achchey kapde pehan kar, suj-dhuj kar, ghar se bahar nikalta athwa nikalti hai aur koi kahey ki yeh bahut achcha ya achchi lag rahi hai, aadi-aadi aur usee samay kuch us ladke ya ladki ke sath kuch mishappening ho jaye to koi bhi keh deita hai ki usko kisi ki nazar lag gayee hai. Vastutaha mishappening uske pichchley karmon ka phal hai. Usko kisi kee nazar nahin lagi hai. Atah kisi ki unnati ko dekh kar yadi koi jalta hai to Yog shastra ke anusaar wah taap dukh ko prapt hota hai. Isliye aisey manushya to dayaa ke adhikari hain unsey ladai nahin ki jaati. Aapko unsey prem hi badaana chahiye. Issey ghar mein ekta bhi bani rahegi.
