Swami Ram Swarup: Sri Krishna ke guru Sandeepani Rishi they jo Charon vedon aur Ashtang Yog vidya ke gyata they. Unke ashram mein rozana ved mantron se Yajyen, Ashtang Yog vidya kee sadhna, Ishwar ke naam ka jaap aur vedon ka adhyayan hota tha. Aaj Sri Krishna Maharaj ka naam lekar yeh kehna galat hai ki Sri Krishna ne bhi guru kiye. Aam janta guru karey parantu Sandeepani jaise Rishi ko guru karey jo Charon vedon ke gyata hon aur unkee indriyan sanyam mein hon.
KY: Respected guruji, how do a person make himself/herself eligible for Diksha? If he/ she has not followed Vedas till now, is he/ she can become eligible for deeksha? Practically, is it possible to control senses if onehas not practiced? Can guruji gives mental strength to follow principles of diksha?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, everybody who even does not know about Vedic knowledge is eligible to take deeksha only from a learned acharya who knows four Vedas, Ashtang Yog philosophy and daily gives the same knowledge to others. When the devotee will come in contact with learned acharya with an intense thirst to gain Vedic knowledge, they will sure become one day the learned of Vedas and Ashtang Yog. Yes, acharya gives mental inspirations which is strength to follow Vedic knowledge.
Sridhar: Swamiji I enjoy chanting Vishnu Sahasranamam Storam a lot and so feel depressed that I am asked not to chant it if there is death in the family or if my wife is having periods. Can’t I chant the sahasranama at all times. How can I being impure effect the Lord himself?
Swami Ram Swarup: Infact, Vedas donot preach to do Vishnu Sahasranamam worship. In Vedas, it is preached that there is only one eternal, everlasting, Almighty, omnipresent, formless God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. So, I cannot give any comment on Vishnu Sahasranamam worship, being against Vedas. However, you may go ahead at your own.
