Cuma: After getting old what can we do the idols which we did puja for past so many years? Now a days children is not in the way to keep the idol at home as ritual as we were.
Swami Ram Swarup: In fact idol worship is not mentioned in Vedas by God. God is formless, omnipresent. He creates, nurses and destroys the universe. His real worship is preached in Vedas by Himself that one should make contact with learned acharya to listen to vedas, to do daily havan/Yajyen with ved mantras, name jaap and practice of Yoga Philosophy. However, if you are interested in idol worship, it is your own views and you can go ahead. If your children do not desire to keep idol in home, you can take advice from local pandit of a temple.

Mahendra: I am using hawan samagri daily in pooja (fire in bowl attached with handle) with ghee and doing aarti of Lord Mahadev. Kindly guide me what can I do? I don’t know the mantra and all process, but wanna do in lotus feet of God. Please suggest me that I am doing right or not? My heart says do whatever you do in GOD’s lotus feet but my brain says No. Please suggest me.
Swami Ram Swarup: Samved preaches that havan/Yajyen is performed only with ved mantras and not from other shlokas etc. So, if anybody wants to perform havan/Yajyen, he must first make contact with learned acharya of Vedas to know the process of doing the same. It cannot be performed at one’s own accord. In Vedas, the actual meaning of Mahadev is Formless, Omnipresent, Almighty God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. His worship is performed by following the Vedic path under the guidance of a learned acharya.
So, you are advised to make contact with learned acharya of Vedas, locally or make contact with local Arya Samaj for taking the Vedic preach.
