Kamal: Who is Mahashiva mentioned in Shivapuran?
Swami Ram Swarup: In Shiv purann, shiv or Mahavir is one and the same thing. However, in Vedas, Shiv or Mahadev pious words exist which means Formless, Almighty, Omnipresent God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe.
Seshu: Pranam swamiji, I am blessed to see your website. Please let me know when can we chant OM (AUM). Can we chant OM like any other nama (i.e Srirama, Narayana, Siva, Krishna) at anytime in our day to day life (i.e when we are lying, bathing, working etc..). Is there anything told in VEDAS that we have to chant OM only when we are physically clean? Please clear my doubt as I have this doubt right from my childhood. Thanks.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Om is the best, supreme name of God in Vedas. So, it should be remembered both times in morning and evening, sitting on siddhasan or padmasan concentrating on agya chakra. Proper procedure must be learnt from local purohit of Arya Samaj mandir. However, Om- the name of God can also be chanted within heart every time if suits.
Ashirbad: Pranam guruji, In family janeyu ceremony is not observed but I wear it, Now I want wear it as vedic way. Please help me sir.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Janeyu is worn within the age of 6-8 years. However, if you still want to perform Yajyen to wear janeyu Yajyen benefit will be awarded to you by God. So, please contact purohit of local Arya Samaj Mandir to arrange Yajyen with ved mantras.
