Varun: Pranam Guruji. Guruji it is said somewhere ,maybe in upnishads that ‘a man’s desires donot end but the ends’ .So does that mean a man should not desire at all or that one should only desire wisely(good things) like to get a good job, earn good money, worship etc.
How can one strengthen one’s desire to succeed in life both materially and spiritually, I mean how to overcome the laziness.
Is a person’s future fixed. I mean I want to become a officer but God has planned something else for me can that happen?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. It is said in Bhartrihari Shatak that
“Trishna na jeernna, Vaya Mev jeernna” i.e., desires donot end but human-body ends. So, it does not mean that there must not be any desire, the big and the last desire must be to realise God for which Vedic path must be followed. Thereafter, desire to earn money with hard working, to serve parents, gurus and elder, to serve the country, the society etc., must be there and when a person will follow the Vedic path then in the last stage, all desires end except desire to realise the God. When we know that God inspires us in the Vedas to do hard work, to overcome laziness, to study hard, to do daily hawan and yogabhyas etc., then automatically it comes in our mind to be obedient to almighty God by accepting His above inspirations. In this way, one should leave laziness and get awakened by pious decision.
Several times, I’ve written on this site that future has been given by the God in our hands. If we follow Vedic path and do hard work, then our future is made bright by God otherwise bad luck is generated. So, make your future bright yourself by doing hard work.
