Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. Truth is established by giving proof. In the matter of
spiritualism, Vedas are self-proof. So, truth is, in this way established by giving proof of Ved mantras. For example- if a person states that God is having a form and others state that God is Formless then truth will be established by giving the proof of Ved mantras. When both the persons
would produce ved mantras then it is sure that person who is telling that God is having a form/shape, would not be able to give proof of Ved mantras and thus the truth will be established that God is Formless.God is Formless and one Rigveda mantra 6/50/14 states that God is “Ajah Ek paat”. Aj means who never takes birth and “Ek Paat” means He was one, is One and shall ever remain one. So, there is no other God like Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh and in this connection, I paste my article as under-
Are Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh Gods?
Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh are not God. Vedas tell that there is only one formless God who never takes birth. He creates, nurses and destroys the universe. His power is enough to create and control the whole universe. He is Almighty i.e., He has all unlimited powers and therefore He does not
need any assistance to create, nurse and destroy the universe by Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. If God needs assistance then He will not be called Almighty. So God does not need any support but we all humans as well as all living beings need His support and blessings every time. However, in Vedas, there are innumerable names of Almighty God according to His divine qualities. So Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh etc., are also the names of the formless Almighty God. Brahma means the greatest.
Vishnu means omnipresent and Mahesh means the greatest.
It is the personal matter of worship or not to worship. So atheists are also there. But it is very clear that God in Vedas as clarified that He Has blessed the human being with human body to worship and realise God. Nobody can attain happy life in the absence of worship of God. One more thing is clear from Vedas in which God states –Oh man/woman you live on the earth given by God and all comforts provided by the God. And if you do not remember/worship God then it is sin and punishment is awarded by the God.
Very few persons know that present science has also come out from Vedas, especially Rigveda. The knowledge of Vedas also emanates from God. So, it is clear that scientist also enjoy science which is given by God. God is not only the matter of blind faith. It is the matter of discussion with a learned acharya of Vedas and Yoga philosophy who from Vedas, shastras and Upnishads etc., and scientifically also prove the existence of God. For example- we see the creation and can think deeply that who has created it or is it a job of man/woman, scientist etc., then automatically after long discussion we would reach on the conclusion that men/women/scientist have not created the universe and then He who has created is called Almighty God.
Vishnu is also a name of formless, Almighty God based on quality. Quality is a sunder- “Vishnu” word is made from “Vishlari” Dhatu and the sense of Vishlari” is omnipresent. So he who has the quality of being Omnipresent at all times without a second’s break, He is Vishnu and no other Vishnu exists equivalent to this God. Similarly, Brahma= “Vri Vridhau” i.e., the biggest amongst the universe. Naturally, He is Almighty God. So, the name of Almighty God is also Brahma. Similarly, according to Yajurveda mantra 16/41 shiv means he who is beneficial/causes welfare, is shiv.
The most beneficial, who creates and nurses the universe is Almighty God. So, Shiv is also name of Almighty God.
1.) It is not a matter of discussion. It is a matter of realization only. Please, continue listening to Vedas, name jaap of Om-God’s name and hard practice of Ashtang Yoga, by maintaining Brahmacharya under guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga and then according to your ability, realize God.
2.) Reply as above. However Vishnu, in Vedas, is stated as omnipresent, formless God because God is one and His names according to His divine qualities which are unlimited, are unlimited.
3.) I have seen thirty fourth page of Ved mandir.com dated 15th January, 2011 to 29th January, 2011. On the date fifteenth January, 2011, three questions have been asked. In one of the question, qualities of soul have been briefed and Rigveda mantra 10/82/7 has been mentioned. But the
word “Vishnu” does not appear there. Please, give more clarification and hints about the word “Yat=Vishnu. Yat word has been used for you and again Yat word has been used for “That God” in explanation of Rigveda mantra 10/82/7.
4.) Vedas do not tell about any Sudarshan chakra but it is mentioned in Purann only which learned of Vedas do not accept, being unauthentic. As per Mahabharat epic, Sri Krishna had a weapon name of which was Sudarshan Chakra. It was not a sudarshann chakra mentioned in Puranns because it was a weapon to be used in war.
5.) The greatest Almighty God is Formless and does not have any senses, perceptions etc. Samundra manthan is also a story of Purann.
6.) This is also a purannic story.
Rishikesh: Swamiji Pranam, Mere ghar ke bahar ek Peepal Ka ped hai. Mere ghar ka Darwaja paschim disha me khulta hai and ground floor me..comound ka bahar ek purana peepal ka ped hai. Uski Chaya humare ghar ke upar padti hai. Abhi log keh rahe hai ki Peepal ka ped ghar ke
aage achcha nahi hai aur mera growth nahi hoga. Kripya upay bataye. Sastang Namaskar.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Peepal ka ped kahin bhi ho, weh vrikshon mein sabse uttam aur labhkari ped kaha hai. Sri Krishna maharaj nein Geeta mein bhi is baat ko spasht karaa hai atah aap bhraanti mein na aayein. Peepal ka ped sabhi ke liye sukhkari hai. Aisey pedon kee raksha karna punyavaan karya hai.
Pallav: Swamiji pram. question 1 -I want to know that what is the view of ved on astrology and solution provided by astrologers like wearing gemstone, can solve the problem Question 2 – astrological mantras like “om braam breem broum sha budhaye namah” or same for another planets are given in vedas or there are another mantras for planets?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.
1.) Present astrology does not exist in Vedas, please. So, learned of Vedas and scientists do not accept it, being unauthentic.
Wearing gems for good luck
Gems like Pukhraj and pearl etc., have not been mentioned in Vedas. We have to face result of our previous lives deeds, good or bad, in the shape of happiness or sorrows, respectively and the deeds which we are doing at present, these will be faced in future births. So wearing of gems will do nothing in the matter of facing the result of our deeds unchangeable law which has been made by God Himself. So vedas never accept such claims.
2.) No, please. Such shlokas are not mentioned in Vedas.
