Subhash: Respected Guru Ji Parnam, is it necessary to recite Yajurved mantra19/39 regarding remembrance of respected guru ji before starting havan. If yes, please tell me about the mantra in question in English language.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.
“Punantu Maa Devjanaha Punantu Mansa Dhiyaha
Punantu Vishwa Bhootani JaatvedahaPuneehi Maa.”
(Yajurveda mantra 19/39)
Oh! (Jaatvedaha) learned acharya (Maa) me (Puneehi) be pure i.e., O learned of Vedas may you kindly make me pure like those (Devjanaha) learned and religious persons (Mansa) through special knowledge [worldly and spiritual, both] (Punantu) make me pure and my (Dhiya) buddhi i.e., intellect (Punantu) make pure. My (vishwa) all (bhootani) human beings (Maa) me (Punantu) make pure i.e., learned and religious persons, make me pure by giving me special knowledge (i.e., both worldly and spiritual) and make my intellect pure andmake all human beings pure.
Now, the idea of mantra will be-
Oh! Learned Acharya, make me pure like those learned and religious persons, who make others pure. This is utmost duty of learned to make others pure by giving them eternal Vedic knowledge and making them to do Yajyen along with Yoga Philosophy but in turn if no person makes contact with them, what can a learned person do?
C: I am suffering from Ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease. Please advise treatment. Pranam
Swami Ram Swarup: In this connection, I can only tell that you should take regular, expert medical advice which will be beneficial for you. In addition, I would advise you to please make contact with any local yoga teacher to learn and do some asans and prannayam. If you learn it properly and do practice thereof continuously, you’ll get benefit soon. Please, take plenty of water, at least 15-20 glasses of water which has been boiled and cooled for intake. Must go for a long walk.
