Ajay Kumar: I want to know that what is the name of 16 kala of Lord Krishna with shastra reference
Swami Ram Swarup: Sixteen kalas are mentioned in Atharvaveda mantra 7/80/1, 2, 3 and in Yajurveda mantra 8/36 also. They are as under-
Ekshan, prann, shraddha, aakash, vaayu, agni, jal, prithvi, indriya, mann, ann, veeraya, tap, mantra, karma lok, lokonmein naam.
Such kalas are obtained by man/woman, (aspirant) who after practising Vedic philosophy and ashtang yoga attains Dharmamegh Samadhi. The said Yogi obtains 16 kalas and yog siddhis. That is why, he realises God. You see, every yogi attains said sixteen kala but Formless, Almighty God has unlimited kalas (qualities).
However the said sixteen kalas are achieved by soul and not by God, He being Almighty and having unlimited kalas (qualities) already.
M S: Namaste Swami Ji, Recently, I met a ten year old girl and her mother andwithout second thought, the little kid asked me if I know the meaning of her name, “DENIKIA”. To be honest, I was baffled and could not give an answer but I told her if yourname is a Hindu name, surely, I will give you an answer in a week or two. SwamiJi can you help me with this question? Is her name related to Hinduism and ifyes, the meaning of Denikia, repeating DENIKIA. Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. Denik meansdaily. In Sanskrit, the meaning of Denikia would be “for daily/everyday”.
