Shivanshu: # RigVeda 4:26:1 Look at me. I am the “Manu”, and the “Sun” too. I am the intelligent seer “Kakshivaan”, and “Kutsa” the son of “Arjuni”. I am the poet “Rushana” who loves all. Panam guru ji…kya ye translation sahi h..agar sahi h to kya jb ved rishiyo ko mila to kya mannu maharaj the r roshan a r arjuni koun hai?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. In the mantra the meaning of Manu is – he who deeply thinks and is learned of Vedas. So, here Manu is God. Surya also means God. Because, God enlightens the whole world like sun. Kaksheevaan means wherein all traditions of the universe exist i.e., God. “Rishihee”- Rishi means who knows the meaning of every ved mantras i.e., God. Arjuneyam means who proves/perfects the kutsam i.e., Vajra i.e., weapon originated by learned and He is God.
Ushana means he who thinks about welfare for all human –beings and He is God.
Kavihi i.e., knower/learned of all Vedas and He is God.
In the end, God states- ma Pashyet i.e., look at me. It means realise God, by studying Vedas, attaining knowledge and adopting it in life, doing Ashtang Yog practice.
He is learned of learneds, Supreme judge, omniscient, benevolent and Almighty. He only creates, nurses and destroys universe.
So, before the creation starts, the time of final destruction remains and at that time, no human-being and no matter of universe exists. Then what to talk about Manu etc.
Rajen: Dear Swami, when doing havan, must all be seated when offering samagri into fire? What is correct way of performing the havan?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, please. Sitting position to offer the aahuti is best position. I paste my article in this regard:-
HOW TO DO HAVAN
Please sit in the morning to perform havan. Havan must be in sunlight then it is more beneficial. Then half a bowl of fresh water with a tablespoon must be with you with small twigs especially of mango tree if possible, havan samagri, ghee, camphor and match box must be there with you. Please sit on sukh asan on four times folded blanket and blanket must be on mat.
Sukh asan i.e., sit on duly folded feet in comfortable position. Then first close your eyes and concentrate between two eyebrows and chant Gayatri mantra three times within heart and not by mouth. Then open your eyes.
Take one spoon of water in right palm. Chant this mantra, OM AMRITO UPASTRANMASI SWAHA and drink the water which you have put in your palm. Then again take the spoon of water in right palm then chant the next mantra, OM AMRITA APIDHANMASI SWAHA, and drink the water. Then again take the water in right palm and chant the mantra, OM SATYAM YASHAH SHRI MAYI SHRI SHRAYTAAM SWAHA, and drink the water. Then wash the right palm while sitting, with the same water kept in bowl.
Then put the twigs into havan kund with one piece of camphor and burn it. During this process chant the Gayatri mantra again and again till such time the fire is lighted sufficiently. Then chant the Gayatri mantra and at the last add the word Swaha and offer ghee with tablespoon, quantity equivalent to 4 to 5 drops. And if you are alone then also offer in fire pinch of havan samagri from your right hand’s finger and thumb avoiding forefinger. So this offering may be of 11 times, 21 times or 51 times as the time suits. It is the simplest way and I have not quoted the complete method of Yajna. The havan with Ved mantras are always offered as the best worship of God only please. Do havan daily and both times.
In the end of hawan, please pray to God to fulfill your desires. I hope God will sure listen to you.
Beside VCD and ACD of havan procedure are also available. The prices of VCD and ACD is Rs.40/-each. The CDs can be sent to you on receipt of your postal address, if you desire.
Jatin: Acharya ji, havan karte samay janeyu pahnana(usme 3 gaanth) ek custom hai ya phir yeh kahin ved mantro mein ishwariya aagya hai.
Swami Ram Swarup: Janeyu pehnna Ishwar kee agya hai aur teen dhagon ka bhaav hai-
Janeyu (the holy thread)
According to the true Vedic philosophy the custom to wear the Janeyu is eternal made by God. Janeyu has three threads which are indication of Raj, Tam and Satv gunas. There is a knot in the thread which indicates and reminds every time that we have taken oath to bind the said three gunas because the gunas have proud, anger, laziness, greed and various sins.
Further the said three threads also remind us to discharge duties towards Rishirin, Pitririn and Devrin. Rishirin means we have to serve the learned Rishis to obtain knowledge both worldly and spiritual. Pitririn means after completion of brahmacharya ashram our parents entered Grihasthashram (family life being married) and gave us birth. This tradition we have to follow and we have to serve the parents also. Devrin means after completion of grihasthashram we have to enter Vanprasth ashram to learn and donate the knowledge to the society. In a Sanskrit shlok it is mentioned that the Yajopavit gives us long happy life.

hum bhi buushe hee ho rahe.sab samay uunki hee care ho ye sambhaw
nahi.mere sasur 95 year ke hai.aur mrittu se darte hai.roj ek baar
bolte hai ki bhagwaan aise hee chalte firte uutha lete?par jara bhi
pet upset hua ya chakkar aaya to dr.ke paas jaane ke liye ya dawa ke
liye bahut zid karte hai.dawa le kar shant ho jaate fir wahi raam

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. Yeh aapka punnya hai ki aap tyag vritti sahit apne kartavya –karma nibhatee aayee ho. Vedon mein yeh updesh hai ki jaise jawani mein mata-pita apne bachchon kee dekhbhal karte hain, unhein padaa-likha kar badaa karte hain, settle karte hain etc., weh bachchey budhape mein apne mata-pita ki ussey bhi adhik seva karke pitri rinn ko utarein. Parantu yahaan yeh avashya samjhein ki manushya ka Jeevan vedanusar Ishwar kee Pooja karne ke liye mila hai, atah aap sabhi parivar ko nitya ved mantron se agnihotra karna seekhna chahiye.
Vriddh hamare sadaa poojneeya rahein hain. Unhein prasann rakhkar hee hum jeevan mein prasannta prapt kar sakte hain, unhein dukh dekar hum sadaa dukhee hee raheingey. Yeh vedon ka niyam hai.
MeiKam: Dear Guruji, Why all prashad offered in yajyen are sweet but not other tastes like salty? Thanks.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. Sweetness gives the message to speak sweetly and deal with all the public in sweet manner. For example:- Rigved states :-
“Vachah Vadami Madhumat” i.e., we all must speak sweetly.
