Tarun: Braham Lok
Swami Ram Swarup: Actually there is no Brahamlok or Vishnulok based on the calculation of days, years etc. Braham lok means human body where soul resides. However, as stated in Bhagwad Geeta, Shloka 8/17 and Manusmriti chapter 1 shloka 71, there is a calculation of ‘day of brahma’ and “night of brahma”.
One Day of brahma = 1000 yugas(time period ) and one night is also= 1000 yugas (time period).
Atharvaveda kand 19, Sukta 53 states about the time calculation. Atharvaveda mantra 10/8/4 states about twelve months time and seasons of summer, winter, etc.
Manusmriti chapter 1, shloka 71 states that
one satyug period = 17, 28,000 years.
One Treta period = 12, 96,000 years
one Dwapur period = 8, 64,000 years
one Kalyug period = 4, 32,000 years
Total of which comes to 43, 20, 000 years. Which is called one chturyugi.
When the period of one chaturyugi exhausts by thousand times (43, 20,000 x1000) years then it is called a day of Brahma and similarly the said period is counted for one night of brahma.
Shabeer”: God’s peace be upon you. In Bhagwath geethaa says Statue prayer will do only mad persons. But in your religion everybody doing that. So what is your opinion. Please let me know clearly.
Swami Ram Swarup: Thanking you, please. I also pray God for your long, happy life. As regards religion Vedas state that it stands on eternal truth and is established by Almighty God who is one, omnipresent, formless, creates, nurses and destroys the universe. He is unchangeable, unchallegeable, beyond imagination, beyond description. He never takes birth. Rigveda mantra 6/50/14 states that God is ‘Aj Ek Paad’. Aj means he who never takes birth, never comes in womb being omnipresent. “Ek Paad” means unchangeable i.e., He has unlimited divine qualities, powers etc., like being Almighty. Therefore, needs no assistance to create, nurse and destroy the universe etc. He is formless, omnipresent etc. So, the said qualities were; are and shall ever remain unchangeable in future as well.
Shwetashwataropnishad shloka 6/8 states- “NA TASYA KARYAM KARNNAM CHA VIDYATE
NA TAT SAMAHA NA CHA ABHYA-DHIKAHA DRISHYATE” i.e., nobody was/is equivalent or more to God.
Yajurveda mantra 27/36 states:
(TVA HAWAMAHEY) Oh God! (ANYAHA TVA TVAVAN DIVYAHA NA PARTHIVAHA NA JATAHA NA JANISHYATE) i.e., Oh adorable God! We worship you, because apart from you, no other matter is equivalent to you or is the purest one like you or is famous on this earth. Moreover, none has either taken birth or shall take birth in future who can be compared to you.
Yajurveda mantra 40/1 states-
“EESHAVASYAMIDAM SARVAM YAT KINCHCH JAGATYAM JAGAT”
i.e., whatever there is in the universe, the God being omnipresent, is present in all the matters. That is why, we say that God is everywhere. That is why, I love these thoughts of a poet-
“JHUKA DO SAR USI KE SAMNE AA JAYE JO KOYEE,
KE JAB SAJDA HI KARNA HAI TO ALLAH SAB MEIN REHTA HAI.”
Bhagwad Geeta is a Vedic preach. It is an extract of Mahbaharat written by Vyas Muniji who was a great philosopher of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga. Vyas Muniji wrote said epic depicting Yogeshwar Sri Krishna maharaj uttering the same. Therefore, neither Vyasmuniji nor Yogeshwar Sri Krishna maharaj have given reference regarding statue worship. When no reference has been given about statue worship. Therefore, they have not stated therein that statue worship is performed by mad people. In entire Geeta actually, the said great dignitaries have not stated anything about statue worship because when Bhagwad Geeta was been written i.e., about 5,300 years ago only Vedic education was in force and no one knew about idol worship or present sects, etc.
Atharvaveda mantra 10/8/1 states “YEH BHOOTAM CHA BHAVYAM” He who was present in the past and will remain present in the future forever “YASCHA ADHITISHTHATI” i.e., who is also present now “TASMAI DEVAI” for the supreme Dev “Brahamanne” who is the greatest of all. “Namaha” for Him we do ‘Naman’ i.e., we do His stuti, worship, praise etc. He is only worshippable.
