Deepak: Guruji charan sparsh and thanks for your blessings which I can feel. This question I am asking behalf of my friend who is very very confused. He has read somewhere Kabir vani in which Kabir saheb has said that I’m parmatma and rest all devi devta are following one God whose name is kaal and Ved books and all shashtras indicating one unlimited God and he is kaal and that kaal has done sankalpa that He wont show himself anyone that’s why we can not see Him and he is unlimited god, and kabir saheb has said that I am only god of satlok, so havan, puja of devi devta all goes to that kaal and kabir saheb has said this also that only satnaam can save you and my follower can give that satnaam. Can you please please reply me I want to forward him? Your faithful shishy Deepak.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Learneds always warn the public that always listen to Vedas from a learned acharya who knows Sanskrit grammar, Vedas and Ashtang yoga philosophy. Now, problem is this that mostly public is not aware of the knowledge of Vedas and like the act of blindly following others, they are compelled to follow the same blind path. Nowadays, mostly the so-called saints have been trying to mislead the public by their false statements. In the case of Kabir banni there are also misconceptions. I am sure that Sant Kabir has never declared himself as Parmatma.
The people who are writing such wrong things have interpreted their own meanings of Ved mantras that too in small portions (piece meals which is a great sin, say Atharvaveda mantra 12/5/40. Idea of the mantra is that one should traditionally study the Vedas from a learned acharya of Vedas in gurukul or in the home of the learned acharya. On this point, I am afraid whether that the guru/gurus and followers who have concern with sant Kabirji, who are declaring Kabirji as Parmeshwar/Ishwar have studied Vedas as stated above. I mean to say, they have not studied Vedas traditionally but have been trying to impose the false meanings of few portion of Ved mantras on others. Had they studied Sanskrit grammer and Vedas traditionally they would have been automatically bound to worship only one, omnipresent, formless, omniscient, God who never takes birth (i.e., He never comes in the womb of the mother to take birth in the form of child). Some of my admirers asked the present guru of Kabir panth to have shastrath with me on the issue of declaring Sant Kabirji as Parmatma. I also agreed to it. But when they asked for the sum of Rs. two lakhs then my admirers had to withdraw because, to organize shastrath such money is not required. I also sent a message that before shastrath we will sit together on lunch/dinner and have prior talk over the issue in loving manner. Yet they did not agree. I shall like to draw your attention on Rigveda mantra 1/164/45 wherein the difference between learned acharya of Vedas and uneducated guru has been stated the meaning of the mantra is as under-
(Ye) Those (Manisheennaha) who do deep study of Vedas and have full command over mind, possess best intellect. Please, try to understand that vedic word manu, Muni and Manisheennaha are concerned with the study of Vedas. (Brahammannaha) Please try to understand that there are two meanings of Brahma from which Brahammannaha word is made.
First Brahma means Shabda Brahma i.e., knowledge of Ved mantras including Sanskrit language. So, Brahammannaha means who has studied Sanskrit grammer, Vedas. So, such Brahammanna (Vaak) of divine voice of i.e., Vedas (Parinnita) measure/quality (Chatvari) four i.e., four measures/qualities of the Vedas which are Akhyat, Upsarg, Naam and Nipaat. (Padani) Pad which is worthy to be known. Here Pad means the words like “Kavi” Manishi” etc. (Taani) that knowledge i.e., Grammer, Ved, Measure/quality of divine voice i.e., Vedas, name, akhayat, upsarg and nipaat pad are known by manisheennaha – munis. Mantra further states that (manushyaha) ordinary men (Vachaha) of divine voice i.e., Vedas. (Turiyam) fourth part of the vaani i.e., Nipaat (Vadanti) only say. That is, the ordinary people do not have the proper knowledge of Chatvari i.e., name, akhyat, upsarg. They never say about the said three parts but only say the fourth part i.e., Nipaat and this is
the difference between the learned and the ordinary men.
Meaning- Those who are learned of Vedas and have control over their mind- intellect by virtue of study of Vedas and hold practice of Ashtang yoga philosophy and know Vedic grammer, Vedas, they are well-learned of name (noun), akhyat, upsarg, nipaat words. But those who are ordinary men i.e., have not studied the above quoted vedic philosophy traditionally, they do not know about name (noun), akhyat, upsarg, nipaat. This is the significant main difference between the learned acharya and the ordinary men who declare themselves a learned sant at their own. Hence, the acute problem arises and the loss is to be borne by the innocent public. That is why, Manusmriti shloka 2/168 states
“Yo andhitye Dwijo Vedam-Yatra Kurutey Shramam
Sa Jeevannev Shudratvamashu Gachchanti Sanvayaha.”
Meaning- Those who do not study the Vedas traditionally, but does hard struggle in studying other man-made granths etc., he along with his followers, sons and grandsons etc., attains shudratva stage i.e., mean/inferior thoughts immediately. Thus, his downfall starts and soon he will be liable to face the sorrows, tensions, problems, diseases etc., along with his family and followers. So, vedic path is very sharp and vedic knowledge is first required to be listened from an acharya, it should not be studied alone. A study of the above would reveal that misinterpretation and cut-piece knowledge of Ved mantras is a great sin and Almighty God punishes such defaulters.
Now, I would like to tell same wrong meanings of cut pieces of the Ved mantras mentioned in Kabir’s banni i.e., a book named “Bhakti saudagar ko Sandesh”…………
On the first line of first page under the heading-
“Bhakti Saudagar ko Sanket” it is stated that there was no Dharma or sect before 5,000 years but it should be known that right from the beginning of the earth i.e., about one arab, ninety six crores, eight lakh, fifty three tghousand years before till 5,000 years ago eternal, vedic Dharma existed which was applicable and is still applicable for whole mankind, Vedas knowledge having emanated direct from God.
I am unable to give full comments on the book, being a lengthy task but full book can be discussed personally. You know, our mothers, sisters, household ladies check only one grain of rice from the cooking pot and come to the conclusion that whether full quantity of the rice of the pot is cooked or uncooked. Similarly, I would only give shot examples of the books which are against the Vedas, shastras, upnishads, Geeta etc. On the bottom line of the same page number 1, author has given the references of Yajurveda mantra 5/32, Samveda mantra 1400, Rigveda mantra 1/1/11 and several other Ved mantras, holy Quran Sharief and Bible stating that the said holy books are praising sant Kabir as the form of Parmatma i.e., God. Study of the same holy books reveals that the name of sant Kabir does not exist therein. For example- some portion (piecemeal) of Yajurveda mantra 5/32 has again been quoted on page 116 as “kavirangharirasi”.
Actually, the said word has been quoted wrongly in the absence of knowledge of above quoted words- Name, Akhyat, Upsarg, Nipaat and Sanskrit grammer etc.. The real word is “Kaviranggharirasi” (quoted in Hindi also). Now, question arises about knowledge of name (noun). Actually, in four Vedas proper noun has not been used by Almighty God except His (God’s) OM name alone- or the names of non-alive matters like- sun, moon etc. So, quoting the name of sant Kabir in Vedas does not arise being against the fundamental law of Almighty God. But in the above quoted book, quoting the reference of said Ved mantras following piece-meal meaning of Ved mantra has been quoted-
“Kavirangharirasi” i.e., (Kavir)- according to grammer, the Hindi word Ra (here R);
using the knowledge of Sanskrit grammer and by doing sandhi-vichched the said Vedic word when will be subjected to sandhi-vichched from the original word Kaviranggharirasi, it will be- (Kavihi) + (Angharihi) + (Asi).
Meaning- (Kavihi) Krantdarshi in Hindi and in English witness of revolution. Here, revolution means that God is the witness of all innumerable final destruction of the universe and will ever remain being immortal i.e., always away from death and birth. God is “Anghari” because He punishes the sinners/culprits but sant Kabir sahib was not the krantdarshi. (Angharihi) enemy of sinner (Asi) is.
So, meaning would be Kavi i.e., God is the enemy of sinner.
Now, I quote the meaning of the above word- “kavirangharirasi” quoted in the above book, related to sant Kabirji. They have stated meaning-
Kavirangharirasi- i.e., (kavir) kabir (Anghari) enemy of sins (Asi) is.
Meaning would be kabir is enemy of sins. They have quoted eternal, pious word “Kavir” as kabir which is totally against the Vedas. Please note that in the Vedas, the word after sandhi-vichched is-
‘kavihi’ and not “Kabi’. There is difference between hindi words “Va” and “Ba”.
I have noted that in whole of the book mostly “kavihi” word has been wrongly assumed as “kabir”. In the above Ved mantra, ‘Kavi’ pious word has been used as proper noun as name of Almighty God and this word cannot be altered.
In the above book related to kabir, mostly the word “Kavi” has been wrongly interpreted. Secondly, Almighty God who is kavi based on His divine qualities is formless and never takes birth in human or any other body, He being unchangeable, unaltered, as is also stated in Yajurveda mantra 40/8 meaning of which is appended below-
Yajurveda mantra 40/8 says
“Sah Paryagaat Shukram Akayamavrannamasnaviram Shudhamapaapvidham
Kavirmanishi Paribhuhu Swayambhuryathatathyatoarthan Vyadadhaat
Shaashvatibhyaha Samabhyah”
“ Shukram” Almighty,
“Akayam” i.e., bodiless, so does not take birth,
“Avrannam” holess and can not be converted into any part, so soul is also not a part of God
“Asnaviram” i.e., without nervous system etc.,
“Apaapvidham” sinless and does not love to those who are sinners,
“Pari + Agaat i.e., omnipresent,
“Kavihi” Omniscient,
“Manishihi” knows thoughts of every soul
“Paribhuhu” who keeps behind the culprits/sinners
“Swayambhuhu” who is eternal/beyond death and birth/has no father, mother etc.,
“Shaashvatibhyaha Samabhyah” for eternal living beings,
“Yathatathyatah” with truth,
“Arthan” gives knowledge of all through Vedas,
“Vyadadhaat” preaches,
“Sah” He is God.
So Vedic satsang and vanni of true Mahapurush must be made the part of our lives to generate the firm love and to continue daily the name jaap of Almighty God .
As regards, satlok and name jaap. The matter has also been mentioned in Vedas. Yajurveda mantra 40/ 15 states “Om Krato Smar” i.e., Oh! man do the jaap of holy name of God, Om but mostly saints do not talk about ‘OM’ for jaap. Satlok is not mentioned in Vedas instead ‘Divilok’ is mentioned, the meaning of which is immortal lok.
Moreover, we must know that of whose name we’ve been chanting or doing the jaap, whether we love him more than the family , ourselves or the world etc., because until we love him, our concentration will never be steadfast on him. Secondly, love is not possible until we know everything about the Almighty God. To know it, the process of satsang, where the natural, eternal, divine qualities, powers and deeds of god are preached or are sung as bhajan-kirtan must be attended more and more. by listening to such satsang and bhajans aspirant will very well know the divine, eternal and everlasting qualities of Almighty God along with other secrets of His creations etc., based on which the aspirant will start to inculcate true love for god and thus will full concentration and love , the aspirant will start doing jaap of His holy name. for example:- “Ek Onkar Satnaam Karta Purukh Nirbhau Nirvair Akaal Moorat Ajooni Saibhung Guruprasad Jap Aad Such Jugaad Such
Hai Bhi Such Nanak Hosi Wi Such” are the divine eternal qualities of God mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Gurpreet: Swamiji SatSriAkal!!! I had asked two questions earlier also but have not been answered. Were they irrelevant or they have not reached you. When Krishna shows his divya swaroop to Arjun he says I am god. Does he mean that his soul is one with God and therefore there is no difference in him and God or he just says he is God.
Swami Ram Swarup: Sat Sri Akaalji. Due to my unavailable preoccupations , I could not reply earlier but now your questions have been answered and sent. Please, confirm receipt. There are three eternal matters of Vedas – There are three matters in the Vedas which is called “Traitwad” first Almighty God , second – souls , third – Prakriti.
Almighty God and souls are alive whereas Prakriti is non-alive from which God creates universe. So, there is not only atma (souls) but Almighty God and Prakriti are also there.
Souls (Atma) are several but God is one. Soul takes living being’s body based on his previous lives’ Karmas – good or bad so human being’s bodies , animals and birds’ body etc., are taken by souls.
And each matter is different from one another based on qualities, etc.
So, Sri Krishna Maharaj cannot be Almighty God. However we must know that the Geeta has been written by Vyasmuni ji and orated by Sri Krishna Maharaj who were great philosophers of Vedas and Yoga philosophy wherein Avtarwad has not been accepted. And therefore to understand the truth of Bhagwad Geeta, the persons should be of same category like Vyasmuniji who know Vedas and Yoga Philosophy. It is our bad luck that mostly the preach of Bhagwad Geeta has been delievered by those who are innocent of full knowledge of Vedas and practical knowledge of Ashtang Yoga Philosophy. Full knowledge of Vedas means mostly the saints do not study Vedas traditionally completely but some portions of mantras which suits them is uttered by them , which Vedas do not permit.
Sri Krishna Maharaj took birth according to Atharvaveda mantra 9/10/11 , at his own discretion , for the benefit of mankind and not merely for a single or few number of countable persons. Liberated soul is free from all kinds of binding, so is a free dignitary and the said freedom is according to the rules and regulations of God i.e., God has given freedom, God has blessed the soul with salvation; that is why, the liberated soul has no binding and is empowered to do whatever the soul likes yet according to Vedas.
In this regard, I would advise you to read my book Bhagwad Geeta – Ek Vedic Rahasya in which a detailed description regarding veracity of Avtarwad , significance of Sri Krishna maharaj preaching on behalf of Almighty God etc., has been given along with proof of Vedas. The cost of book is Rs. 400.00 excluding postal charges.
surekha: pranaam swamiji, kehete hain ki jo desire hamare mun me paida hoti hai,(buree ya achhi) woh zaroor fulfil hoti hai.bhale hi uske liye kitne hee janam lena pade.kyon ki desire ki karmonkaa beej (seed) hai.aur karmonka fal bhugte bina mukti nahee hai. apne mun me koi bhi desire hee paida NA ho, issliye spirituality me koi upaay hai kya?agar hai to woh kya upaay hai?kripaya samzaaiye.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you . Yeh zaroori nahin hai ki hamari har ichcha poornna ho. Aaj koi gareeb ichcha kar Le ki mein Raja ban jayoon, to yeh sambhav hahin hoga. Jo kuch hona hota hai, weh sirf apney kiye hue karmon ka phal hota hai. Han, achchi kaamnayein Parmatma Yajyen karne se poorna karta hai, aisa satya vedon mein kaha hai. Isliye pratyek nar-mari ko nitya Ved-mantron se hawan-Yajyen karna chahiye. Spirituality mein ichchahon ka naash karne ke liye vedon ko sunana, vidwanon se sampark, nitya hawan-Yajyen jkrna, naam simran evam yogabhyas seekh kar yobhyas karna kaha hai. Jo bhi aise karega , uske karmon ke phal ka bhi naash jo jayega. Yani karma phal nahin bhogne padeingein aur buri ichchayein shaant ho jayeingi.
I also paste my article in this regard.
Three types of Deeds
There are three types of deeds (karmas) – sanchit, prarabhadh and kriyamann. Suppose one soul has to take birth (body). It means he has to face total number of deeds of his all previous lives and these deeds are called sanchit karmas but sanchit deeds are huge/unlimited and cannot be faced in one life. So the karmas which can be faced in one life are called prarabhadh (luck-destiny). So God has not made our luck at His own but Almighty God has taken the deeds which we have already done.
Yajurveda mantra 7/48 clarifies that human being is free to do any deed good or bad but God only awards the result. Now the balance deeds from sanchit deeds will be counted in the next life. Now the deeds which we do in our day today present life are called kriyamann.
If we do pious deeds according to Vedas, shastras and holy books and based on pious preaches of Rishi, Muni/learned saints then our all sanchit deeds are burnt and we can get salvation. Human beings are free in the matter of doing deeds good or bad. But result will be awarded by God. So we must worship and do pious deeds under guidance of a learned Guru. One should go always ahead for hard working, pious deeds, worship to make future bright himself. One should always work hard towards a right path.
Worship does not mean that we are free to discharge only our family duties, education, etc., but rather it is a sin. We have to get progress in both way at a time i.e., spiritualism and worldly progress i.e., science, education, duties towards family etc. God creates the universe according to His eternal law framed in Vedas which are always unchangeable and unchallengeable. So we have to follow the law of God always to get long happy life.
J: Namasthey Guruji, Charnsparsh from me, and family. We were thinking whether it will be right on our part to do Havan and read your books with mantras and meanings directly as written by you (we are not interpreting and giving any meaning at this stage, we are just reading out your texts) at a small place near the Ganesh temple that was set up in our military township area very recently. This thought came to our mind seeing the state of affairs around us who does not know what they are doing and which direction they are heading. I really do not know whether we should do anything of this sort, hence we need to your esteemed guidance in this regard. Dear guruji Charansparsh from all three of us once again for the patient hearing of all the four parts of our questions and all your blessings.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my dear son. When you offer the aahuti, then only the Ved mantras must be chanted and nothing else. But after Poornnaahutii, if time permits then chant the mantra with its meaning, very slowly so that the meanings are learnt. After reading, the discussion must be carried out between you and daughter Rashmi or any other person who happens to sit with you. Thereafter, if any problem arises, send the same to me through E-Mail to answer.
