Dr. Harish Arya: Can God create the stone to which he can’t carry?
Swami Ram Swarup: God has created unlimited stones in the universe and God always holds the whole universe including stone as per Yajurveda mantra 40/6.
Nidhi: Pranam Swamiji, Thank you for your previous reply. Can you please inform about the significance of holding fasts on Monday? Also can you elaborate the method in which it can be done? I am not resident in India currently and might not be able to go to temples. So can you please let know of how the Monday fasts can be successfully achieved and if it I can follow Monday fasts.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. You are also welcome. Upwas or fast has not been mentioned in Vedas by Almighty God. So, if we observe any fast then it is not counted towards spiritualism. However, fast once in week can be beneficial for health and therefore you may go ahead. In the fast, you may take water, milk, nimbu-paani. In the next day or in the night, when the fast is to be broken then nimbu-paani should be taken first then some digestible fruit like apple etc., must be taken. Thereafter, vegetarian simple food excluding fatty food should be taken. I also paste one of my article.
Up”= near. “Was”= to reside. So, as per Vedas, the meaning of ‘Upwas’ is either to live nearest to the acharya or to God. As far as acharya is concerned, disciples used to go and sit at his own pious feet to listen to spiritual knowledge and as regards God, the aspirant meditates and tries to concentrate in God. Second meaning of Upwas like leaving intake of food is not mentioned in Vedas.
Sagar Anmalla: SWAMIJI PRANAM as I was reading through the answers I have come across some things where you have mentioned that any Yajyen is not successful without the presence of a ashtang yogi and the mantras he says. Then how can anybody perform Yajyen without any ashtang yogi? Swamiji please enlighten me.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. when Brahma/yogis who knows four Vedas is not present in Yajyen then agnihotra is performed in his absence, which is also a worship of Almighty God. The benefit of Brahma i.e., learned of Vedas is that he fulfills the requirement of Yajyen mentioned in Vedas and he describes the Ved mantras in simple understandable language to impart knowledge to the public.
