C. K. Vatsa: Swamiji Namaste. We know that the Vedas is an Ishwariya Gian. It is universal and is meant for the entire universe. We find that some other people also claim that their
religious books are a revelation from the God. Please elucidate. Dhanyawad.
Swami Ram Swarup: Namaste. You see, I’ve several times stated in my books as well as on this website that it is fundamental law of nature-“knowledge is gained when it is given by anyone.”
Now, we’ll have to think deeply that in the non-sexual creation, when there was no learned acharya/guru to give the knowledge to the human beings about science, form of deeds and worship/spiritualism then how the knowledge came in the universe. in this regard, Patanjal Yog Shastra Sutra 1/26 already states that Almighty, Formless God was the first guru of ancient four Rishis of non-sexual creation, from whom (God) the knowledge of four Vedas emanates and is originated in the heart of four Rishis and the said fact has very well being explained since long time by me. Now, you see when Vedas’ knowledge came then the Rishis after studying and listening the same became learned and they based on Vedic knowledge, wrote shastras, Upnishads and several holy granths.
Keeping in view, the fundamental law of nature of attaining the knowledge by some one, as quoted above, the saints also gained the knowledge from Upnishads, Shastras etc., and they’ve in this period written several holy books etc., and sects have been made. However, we’ll have to keep in mind that the views which tally with Vedas are considered authentic and true otherwise unauthentic, being against the Vedas.
Dadi Amma: Hari Om Swamiji, why do we pray? If it is for asking & we do not get what we want, what is the use for praying?
Swami Ram Swarup: Nowadays, two types of prayers are recited for God. One- self-made/man made secondly, the pious, eternal prayers preached by God Himself, in Vedas. Naturally, God made prayers are preferred by learneds because God always preaches us for well being of humanity. Whereas, man is selfish. However, as stated in Rigveda mantra 1/10/5 that mere prayers would do nothing. We must always do hard work to achieve the pious result of our prayers. For hard work, we’ll have to listen to Yajurveda and for listening Yajurveda, we’ll have to make contact with learned acharya of Vedas and Yoga Philosophy. You see, nowadays no body bothers for the said Vedic path and hence the problem.
The main reason for not following Vedic path is the misguidance/misleading of public by so called saints who normally give their lecture against the Vedas that Vedas are difficult to understand and Yajyen would do nothing except give swarg. Both the said views are false and against the Vedas.
