Vimal: Respected Swami ji, Q and your Answer A on 30 Dec 2022 states: “He who performs daily hawan and yaj and also does name jaap of God daily then his/her previous lives’ sins are destroyed definitely.”
I have following questions on this:
1. Name jaap of God: what name of God should we jaap on daily basis
Swami Ram Swarup: In this connection I paste my article below, yet you have any doubt you may put question to me again.
PROCEDURE OF CHANTING
Please, start the day by chanting Gayatri mantra in the early morning sitting on suitable asan like Sukhasan, Siddhasan or Padmasan etc. concentrate on the point between two eyebrows which is called “Agyachakra”. The Gayatri mantra should be chanted along with its meaning both times. Also, please try to perform daily hawan even with Gayatri mantra. Then try to study any of my books daily and put up question if any.
After 15 days chant the Gayatri mantra only thrice thereafter do the name jaap of Almighty God-“Om”. The jaap must be done daily by heart and not orally.
Vimal: 2. If We Chant AUM Mantra or Gayatri Mantra or MahaMrityunjaya mantra on daily basis, is it equivalent to Name Jaap of God.
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes beta.
Vimal: 3. If we do These Mantra chant without Yajna, will it still destroy previous sins, or it has to be combined with yajna?
Swami Ram Swarup: No please, if you chant these mantras without agnihotra/yaj, yogabhyas etc., without guidance of a learned acharya, then the said mantras will be of no use.
Vimal: 4. I live in Delhi where Air Pollution is extremely bad and is a big issue. If I do Yajna taking pure material from Arya Samaj Bhawan and use pure Cow Ghee, will the smoke generated during yajna still add carbon dioxide and particles in the atmosphere?
Swami Ram Swarup: No please, even the smoke created by performing hawan will destroy the pollution.
Vimal: 5. Can you kindly cite relevant verses from Vedas which state about destruction of previous sins through Name Jaap and Yajna?
6. Can you please guide about the process or science by which effect of old karma /sins can be neutralised by Name Jaap and Yajna ie how this process works?
