Jai: Swamiji, many people claim that modern science is present in Vedas do Vedas also tell about science that is not yet discovered?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, please. Present science has originated from Vedas and still more science is required to be discovered.
Is God the biggest creation of mankind, and faith, religion and sanctity?
The views that “God is the biggest creation of mankind”, and faith, religion and sanctity are totally false and reflect lack of study of Vedas, research and invention, curiosity in spiritualism and tapsya. An aspirant alone will be able to know the reality of God, His creation, spiritualism, science, form of pious deeds and worship.
On the other hand, it is true that ignorant people who do not know Vedas have created so many Gods at their own. The said false statement may be linked with the above quoted views that “God is the biggest creation of mankind” and faith , religion and Sanctity. According to present science also, self-creation or even the creation by God is destroyed one day whereas God is called Swayambhu in Vedas,i.e.,nobody can create God. He is eternal, immortal, unchangeable and everlasting. Tulsi has also told in his Chaupayee that:
“SHRUTI SAMMAT HARI BHAKTI PATH SANJUT BIRATI BIBEK.
TEHIN NA CHALHIN NAR MOH BAS, KALPANHIN PANTH ANEK.”
Meaning: Tulsi states that there is an eternal worship based on Vedas, which leads us towards ascetism and true knowledge. But the people are not following the path of Vedas due to attachment (attachment with materialism, pomp and show, family etc.) and the people, have made their own new several paths of worship.
Creation, Science, worldly matters etc., is not possible until the same is created by someone. Secondly, knowledge is attained when knowledge is imparted by someone.
The said, Vedas knowledge emanates from Almighty, formless God who is one, creates the universe. Thereafter, He creates the living beings’ bodies.
Rigveda mantra 10/129/1-6 throws light about creation that at that time, there was nothing and no living beings did exist. So there was no learned acharya who could give the knowledge to the newly created living beings like parents who educate the children to make them able to speak language and to know about the matters like crow, animals, chapatti, ghee, sun, moon i.e., all matters of the world. See, if a newly born baby is made to live in dense jungle and nursed well but he is not given education about the worldly matters etc. i.e., mathematics, science, animals, sun, moon etc., then even at the young age of 20-25, 30 years, he will not be able to speak any language and when he will be brought out of the cave of dense jungle and asked about the sun, moon, animals, birds before him, then he will not be able to reply because he was not given the said knowledge.
When we look at sun, moon, air, space, human body etc., it is clearly understood that the said creation has not been made by any human being but by Almighty God, from whom the knowledge of four Vedas emanates. In Vedas, the knowledge right from straw to Brahma has been mentioned. So in the beginning of non-sexual earth, the Vedas originated in the heart of four rishis and from the rishis the knowledge of science, deeds and worship along-with every matter is being given to the public by which the public became educated, scientists and wrote books, etc.
In Vedas as well as in fourth chapter of Yog shastra of Rishi Patanjali, it is mentioned that those who do not believe in God are provided more and more facilities by nature and such people get spoiled etc.
On the contrary those who worship God, they naturally try to kill their desires and accordingly under the law, nature, help them to follow the true path to realize the God. Such aspirant gets permanent peace in his heart whereas the richest person who does not believe in God may gather lot of assets but would remain in tension, sickness, problems etc., under the law of God mentioned in Vedas. Is there any country satisfied with its progress and their people have reached to a stage where they have left doing any crime etc? However, the kingdom of Dashrath, where the knowledge of Vedas prevailed everywhere, was satisfied, had long happy life, says Valmiki Ramayana.
The above self-created views have already been explained by Almighty, omniscient God in Atharvaveda mantra 20/34/5. The said Atharvaveda mantra states that some people ask where is God and state that God does not exist. The mantra further states that one should have faith in God who destroys the assets of the enemies. Rishi Patanjali, based on Vedas, states in his Yog shastra sutra 1/7 that Anumaan Pramaan i.e.,(judgement/guess) should be taken into account about the existence of God. Mathematics, science and every subject also requires first Anumaan Pramaan. For-example— when a mathematician solves a problem then he puts some formulae to solve the same by judgement and he succeeds. Scientists have reached the space by manufacturing spaceships. Before its manufacture, every scientist did use his guess/judgement. The scientist thus started the work and succeeded. It is bad luck of those who do not use the method of guess in the matter of creator i.e., God. But use their judgement/guess in materialistic articles only whereas Yajurveda mantra 40/14 implies to achieve progress in both fields i.e., science as well as spiritualism. No doubt, the several illogical paths which have been originated by human-beings at their own against the knowledge of Vedas, to earn money etc., have drifted the people away from spiritualism/truth.
Such people have made their own stories/kathas which never tally with Vedas. For example, somebody said that God desires to seek the dirt of the foot of my Guru. God feels pleasure to touch the said dirt. Such statement really insults the Almighty God. So, millions of such statements have been spread and truly the educated person have drifted away from the spiritualism.
Now come to the point, Atharvaveda mantra 20/34/2 states that the earth revolves around the sun without any support. So which is the power who maintains the earth in action in the space? Yes, science states that is due to the attraction between the planets but Vedas as well as Yogi who has meditated a lot and has realized God, as well as creation states that there are so many suns, moons, skies, solar systems beyond this world, where there is no magnetism between planets. Yet the sun shines and other planets exhibit movement, etc.
Secondly, Vedas as well as Yog shastra chapter 4 states that every matter changes its shape within fraction of time. You keep a new piece of cloth, well folded in cupboard and do not touch the same for about 10, 20, 30 years. Thereafter, you will find that cloth has undergnet changes and deteriorated with time. Electric generator, huge technical machineries work but after some time, it requires repair, overhauling etc. We should judge the creation also that for a long time every planet, seasons, death and birth etc., have been doing their duties, job without fault which shows that such matters or the creation is not a job of human being, living being, educated or uneducated person. If a man is provided with iron, concrete, cement, sand and every material to construct a building except mason, labourer, engineers etc. What will happen? Will the building be constructed itself? Answer is clear that no, it is not possible. To construct a building alive power of requisite mankind is required. The ratio of cement, sand and concrete is not mixed itself, man-power is required. Water is a compound — H2O. The ratio is not mixed itself. An alive power (not non-alive) is required to mix the same. So is the case of human body made of five matters in some fixed ratio, which is not mixed itself.
We will have to think and judge then who is the creator of sun, moon, air, water, earth, human body etc., etc. And learned acharya of Vedas and a complete Yogi has already got the answer that Almighty, omnipresent God creates the universe. By doing unlimited struggle and tapsya the said acharya and Yogi have found the answer whereas atheists whether they are educated or not, merely use words and their words have no curiosity of spiritualism, study of Vedas and tapsya, etc.
If man got civilized from food gatherer to food producer etc., then why not in the first stage and why the people residing in dense jungle are yet uncivilized? Why not a newly born baby kept in dense jungle without being given any education, knowledge, become a learned one? It is because of the fact that knowledge is only gained when the same is given by anybody. So becoming civilized from food gatherer to food producer is not on its own but the people were educated by Rishis-Munis from Vedas, wherein not only the subject of food grains is mentioned, but the subject of universe right from straw to Brahma has mentioned.
If one has not entered the cinema hall in his life and he has a chance to enter, then he does not know where he will be seated. When he is advised by helper/ticket checker etc., then he takes his seat. Then what to talk about curiosity of knowing the Almighty God.
The matter of taking decision on either trivial or important matters must be based on eternal, Vedic theory, which is logical and scientific or must be solved in consultation with learned people, parents etc. But at any cost blind faith must never be followed which is harmful and breaks the unity of human beings. So we require faith and not blind faith. Otherwise atheist is better. Atheists are more hard-working whereas the blind-faith followers intend to spread laziness by popularizing illogical belief under the garb of religion. Such people themselves amass lot of wealth making public poorer and poorer. Such saints as well as their followers due to blind-faith state that their tasks will be accomplished by God and therefore they usually becomes lazy. And as regards Gurus, they gather lot of property and live luxurious life. More and more men and women become sanyasee in their ashrams and remain in the ashram to serve their so-called Gurus etc., which becomes their means of living whereas Vedas state that, “KURVANNEVEH KARMANNI..”, i.e., do hard work in student life to get education, in grihastha (family life) to earn money and to look after the family, in vanprastha ashram to educate the society with the preach based on experience and in sanyas to educate the people regarding their moral duties, hard working and spiritualism to build the strong nation. The Vedic education was adopted by Shri Ram and several kings like Dashrath, Harishchandra, and Rishis-Munis and they made the nation strong.
While there was kingdom of several ancient Raj-rishis like king Harishchandra, Janak, Shri Ram, Dashrath, Ashtak etc., we find from true Mahabharata epic and Valmiki Ramayana that they were more brilliant scientists than the present. One example I quote— that Shri Ram returned to Ayodhya after victory over Lanka in a sophisticated aeroplane along with hundreds of V.I.P.’s like Vibhishan, Hanuman, Angad etc., and within a short span of time, they reached Ayodhya where everyone was ready to welcome him. Ravanna also abducted Sita Mata and brought her to Lanka following the air path.
So when the people were educated with science and spiritualism both as per the advice of Vedas, then there was no poverty, robbery, corruption, insult of women, casteism, injustice etc. On the other hand we witness that there is one sided progress, i.e., towards materialism alone in present time so there is lack of International brotherhood, justice, respect of women, more casteism, poverty etc., etc. So Vedas state, that the progress of science, education and spiritualism, both are required simultaneously to maintain the peace.
Kunal: Swamiji, gandhrva vivaah kya hota hai? Log kehte hai live in relationship jisme ladka ladki bagair shaadi k ek dusre k saath rehte hai aur patni -pati ki tarah sharirik sambandh sthapit karte hai ussey hi gandhrva vivah kehte hai. Aur yeh Hinduism k anuroop hai?
Swami Ram Swarup: Gandharva vivah ka arth hee yeh hai ki vivah kar liya. Kyunki ismein vivah shabda juda hua hai. Isliye yeh jhoootha artha ki live in relationship mein bina vivah ke raho, yeh arth ka anarth hai, paap hai. Han! Jisne karna hai kare. Karmon ka phal to vedanusar Bhagwaan ne hee dena hota hai. Usey kaun rok sakta hai? Gandharv vivah ka arth hai ki aisa vivah jo samaj, purohit ya kisi bhi manushya ke saamne na kiya gaya ho. Kewal var aur vadhu kee atmic sweekriti ke upar adharit ho. Jaise Raja Dushyant aur Shakuntala ka vivah hua tha aur unhein Bharat namak ek putra bhi prapt hua tha aur weh donon sampoornna aayu pati-patni ke roop mein rahe they. Live-in–relationship mein vivah ya marriage shabda nahi hai, isliye yeh vedon ke khilaaf hai.
