Basant: Swamiji namaste, Sukh lokaishna ke kaaran hota hai. is sansaar me koi bhi sukhi nahi hai. Bhogon me hi sukh hai yadyapi aapko ishwar pratyaksh hai to ya aap aisa mante hain ki aapko ishwar pratyaksh hai to. Please tell me swami ji whether breakup from a partner brings Vairagya or not? I think breakup pain is necessary for Vairagya. I know many types of vairagya but confused which one is correct.
Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. Sukh do prakar ke hotey hain. Ek sansarik sukh jo aankh, naak, kaan aadi indriyon se prapt hota hai. Jaisey, sansarik sundarta, soney-chandi kee chamak-damak aur vishaye-vikari tasveer dekhna etc. Kaanon se vishaye-vikari batein sunna aur aisey hee anya indriyon ke vishaye-vikaron kee anubhuti karna vidwan jaantey hain ki yeh vishaye thodi see deir ke liye sukh dey sakte hain parantu issee jeevan mein yeh mahadukhdayee sidh hotey hain. Doosra sukh adhyatmik sukh hai jo vedon mein kahi sadhna jaisey vedaadhyayan, nitya ved mantron se Yajyen, naam jaap aur yogabhyas karke indriyon ko sanyam dwara satya marg par chalkar prapt hota hai. Yeh sabhi dukhon ko nasht kar deita hai.

Han! Vedmarg par na chalne ke karann upar kahe kewal sansari bhogon ke bhog mein rat har ek insaan aaj dukhi hai. Weh avidyagrast hai. Ved vidya nahin jaante. Bhogon mein sukh hota toh Ravanna, Kansa, Duryodhan aadi kee durdasha na hotee aur aaj bhee bade-bade ameeron kee zindagi mein asahneeya dukh aur rog na hotey.

Breakup from girl/boy will never bring vairagya (ascetism). It is a worldly affair which is always painful. If breakup pain, would have been useful to acquire vairagya then such person could have adopted spiritual path and could realize God.

Actually, all worldly breakup pains give grief etc. In several cases, person becomes an addict and ruins his life.There are only two types of vairagya.-
Vairagya and Par-vairagya, mentioned in Yog shasta sutra 1/15 and 16. I paste my article in this regard as under-

Sri Krishna Maharaj nein bhi Bhagwad Geeta ke 12th adhyaye mein kaha hai ki Hey Arjun! Jo sukh dukh, maan apmaan, ninda stuti mein bhee ek saman rahta hai, arthat uske chitta par inka kuchh asar nahin hota, weh ek samaan shanti mein rehta hai, phalswaroop na to weh ninda, apmaan, dukh aadi mein demoralize hota hai aur na hee mentally disturb hota hai. Kyunki us sadhak ko Yog shastra sutra 1/15 kee see sthiti prapt ho jaatee hai jismein kaha hai ki us sadhak ko achchha bura, dekhey-suney ka uske chitta par asar nahin hota, isey hee vairagya kaha hai. Aur par-vairagya to is sey bhi uttam hai jiska varnnan Yog Shasra sutra 1/16 mein kiya hai ki Ishwar kee banayee srishti mein Prakriti se baney sabhi padarthon se (arthat khana-peena, sona-chandi, building, dhan, parivaar, khud ka shareer, ghee, milk aadi) vritti hat jaati hai to usey par-vairagya kehte hain aur isee stage mein sadhak ko Ishwar kee prapti hotee hai, aap yadi ichchha ho to meri pustak Patanjal Yog Darshan Part I and II worth Rs. 131/- and Rs. 300/- excluding postal charges padein. Ab main aapkee baat bataata hoon ki prayaha purey sansaar mein vedadhyayan aur yogabhyaas aadi vidyayein achrann mein nahin hain isliye manushya kee vritti upar kahe Yog shastra sutra 1/15 and 1/16 ke anusaar nahin hai balki sansari vritti hai jismein kaam, krodh, mad, lobh, ahankar mann mein prabal roop se tarah tarah kee buraiyan jaise abhimaan, laalach, chori, seena zori, corruption, lootmaar, dhokadhadi, jhoot, andhvishwaas, paap yukt karma, naari apmaan aadi hazaron kisam kee buraiyan paida karte rehte hain aur jeev sadhna kee kami se unka gulam banaa rehta hai. Aur Yog shastra ke upar kahe sutra ke anusaar weh vairagyavaan bilkul nahin hota isliye us person ko zara sa bhi koi gali de, krodh kare, insult karey itiyadi kee stage mein weh demoralize aur mentally disturb ho jaata hai aur phalswaroop dukhi rehta hai. Kai-kai jagah to jab insaan ke dil mein koi baat lag jaatee hai aur weh usey bardasht nahin kar paata to prithvi ka sabse badaa paap jo atmahatya hai, weh kar baithta hai, isliye hum sab ko vedic sadhna karnee chahiye isee se hamein shanti milegee.yeh nishchit hai ki jab jeev sadhna se maan-apmaan mein samaan ho jaata hai to weh apne aap mein vidwaan kehlata hai aur uskee yash kirti apne aap phailtee jaatee hai.
