Swami Ram Swarup: Indriya sanyam means to control five senses, perceptions, mind and intellect by means of following eternal, Vedic path i.e., by doing daily Vedas’ study, Yajyen/hawan with ved mantras , name jaap of God and hard practice of Ashtang Yoga while discharging all family and moral duties.

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Iske ilawa jahaan bhi koi achchha vedon ka gyata available ho, unse ved mantron kee vyakhya/vedic gyan, zyada se zyada sunne kee koshish karnee chhahiye aur us shiksha ko acharann mein laana chahiye.
Kavita: Nameshkaar Guruji, you mentioned in your answer regarding pregnancy (23 October) that a pregnant woman should not go in hanted houses, cremation ground, stand under a tree at night.Can you please explain why. What I read as far as now is that regarding veda there is no bhoot or something. How can a house being haunted? And what about the cremation ground and the tree at night. Thank you for the explanation.
Swami Ram Swarup: Namaskar ji. By “ haunted house” I mean the house which is deserted or frequently visited by animals for food and drink in which pregnant lady is prone to accidents. However, ghost’s existence is not mentioned in Vedas, so learned do not accept it being unauthentic/false. Cremation ground is linked with death and bad experiences so if pregnant woman will go there and listen to cries and howling before dead body etc., it will put bad effect on the baby.
As far as standing under trees at night is concerned, one should know that trees liberate carbondioxide at night and oxygen in the morning and hence unhealthy.
