Swami Ram Swarup: Sorry, I am unable to say on this matter because in Vedas it has been preached that we have to worship only one formless, omnipresent, omniscient, Almighty God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe and again creates. Vedas, further tell that Almighty God is pleased when we offer aahuti of His praise (‘Stuti’ in Hindi), do His name-jaap and practice of ashtang Yoga under the guidance of learned acharya of Vedas.

Yes, mostly, people have been attracted by such snake charmers due to their falsehood. People being ignorant have been misled. Rigveda already tells that in the absence of the light of sun, naturally darkness would engulf the atmosphere. Similarly, in the absence of the Vedic knowledge illusion has covered the atmosphere and hence the problem. Now, several people are listening to Vedas and after understanding the fact, they further spread the Vedic knowledge and we should have hope that time would sure come to remove the illusion away at least first from India because “Truth always Prevails”. A person who is God –fearing and knows about Vedic dharma, worship etc., has control over his senses. When Vedic preach will be given that alcohol drinking, consumption of non-vegetarian, addiction etc,. is a grave sin and such persons are punished severely by God, then only people will start leaving the addiction etc., and would very well conduct themselves according to law of country.
So, first of all, our government and the learned people should try their level best to spread Vedic culture. And people should be made aware of the harms inflicted by such addiction.
In addition, the medical aid should be given to such addictors.
