Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, as per Vedas and science there is no existence of ghosts in the universe. Description of ghosts is therefore due to lack of knowledge of Vedas. You see, idol worship is not in Vedas but still public do at their own.
Alvin Lal: Pranaam Guruji, A) What is the main purpose for Vyas Muni to write Vedas onto paper for the first time 6000 years ago, when from begining of shristi the Vedas was only shruti , i.e. heard not written or read? What was the reason that he decided that Vedas needed to be written onto paper?

i) How did you meet him, how did you recognise that this Baba Ji was an enlightened person?

Swami Ram Swarup: (A) Vyas muni traditionally remembered Vedas by heart. Several learned also remembered Vedas continuously that is right from Rigveda to Atharvaveda. Several learned like Vyas Muniji observed that Ved mantras of all four Vedas had mixed together and people of Mahabharata time thus had forgotten the starting and end of all Vedas. Therefore for benefit for the generation Vyas Muniji wrote the Vedas first time on Bhoj paper separating each Ved from others. Vedas were written by Vyas Muniji about 5300 years ago.

(1) I met with respected Guruji in dense jungle while wondering there in search of a yogi. Recognition is related to eternal feelings only. I chose him based on eternal feelings.
(2) Babaji passed away due to his natural death. He never told his age to anybody but he was quite aged dignitary.
(3) He was kind enough to accept me as his disciple.
Amar: Namaskar Swamiji, I want to know: Is there any ceremony like mantra deeksha (as done by many sects giving a single mantra to sadhak) in Vedic tradition? Secondly, do Vedic tradition allow mala (beads) japa? Thirdly, is there any specific mala (like tulasi), which is recomended in Vedic tradition. Fourthly, is there Mantra Deeksha at Ved mandir and can I take mantra deeksha from you? Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, deeksha is itself a religious ceremony. Materialistic mala is not required in Vedic shiksha. So, no Tulsi mala etc., is required. Yes mantra diksha is awarded in Ved Mandir to those only who desire and are capable for the same. So please you may come here anytime for the same.
