Simran: Charan sparsh. I have read your book ‘Vedas a divine light III’. In that you have condemned Darwin’s theory, and mentioned that no body part is functionless. I just want to ask that a nictitating membrane exists in our eyes but theory says that it is performing no function in the body. What is the function of this membrane?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. I have not condemned the Darwin’s theory but its relevance is not given in Vedas. So, a learneds of Vedas do not believe in it.

As regards non-functioning of nictitating membrane, I can only say that according to present science, it can be true but according to Vedic science, it can never be true. Vedic science has been mentioned in Atharvaveda where in no such comments have been given.

This is another matter that the function of nictitating membrane etc., is known by God and the Yogi who realises God. So, any body may go ahead according to present science but a devotee of Vedas always follows Vedas’ eternal path. That is why, God states in Yajurveda mantra 40/14 that a person must attain progress simultaneously in materialism (science, pious worldly progress etc.,) and spiritualism. Then, there’ll remain no doubt. But, due to our bad luck, presently human-beings are after the science, worldly matter and materialism alone leaving aside the spiritualism based on eternal Vedas’ philosophy. If Darwin’s theory had been true then its explanation would’ve been written by our ancient Rishi-munis as well.

Vicky: Which god took the image of unisexual personality to kill?
Swami Ram Swarup: Your question is not clear to me, please. So I would request you to clarify your Question with some examples/instances. On receipt of your reply, I would sure try to explain the matter in detail according to Vedas.

Alvin Lal: Pranaam Guruji, Is it true that we humans have given the labelled the name of “God” to Almighty God? This is because humans, to understand something always give names/label to something in order to quantify and understand something. Otherwise how can humans even begin to understand something that has no limits, no boundaries? Whereas truly speaking “Almighty God” is nameless, formless, omnipresent and limitless. He could be a energy source, light source or any other source of power/energy. So for humans to understand this phenomenon “labelled god” we have to objectify, quantify and name it?
B) Similarly another question from this is that, because humans can never truly understand this power, energy or pure light source called Omnipresent God, do we need to worship this power? Do we need to respect something we can never fully understand? Do we need to try to understand or explain something that will never be 100% understandable? Bahaut Dhanaywaad Guruji.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Almighty is not the name of God, please. It is His divine quality. Yajurveda mantra 40/8 states God is Shukram i.e., Almighty. So, Almighty is the translation of divine word- Shukram. Second, God is not nameless. Samveda mantra 1799 states, “Te Naam Vivakmi” i.e., Oh! God, we chant/recite (repeating the name of God) your holy name. Yajurveda mantra 40/15 states the name of God- “Om Krito Smar” i.e., Oh! aspirant chant the name of God-OM.

Yes, person (soul) has limited source to collect the knowledge in the form of five senses, mind and intellect. Whereas Yajurveda mantra 40/4 states that God is beyond the limit of senses, organs, intellect etc., i.e., our senses, organs and intellect, mann (mind) is not able to know the Almighty God. So, by virtue of study of Vedas, Yajyen, name jaap, ashtang yoga practice aspirant becomes able to realise God when he attains Samadhi and goes beyond senses.

No doubt, The God is form of self-light because He does not take light from anywhere that is why, He is called Swayambhu.

(B) Yes, we have been given the human-life by the God only to worship Him and realise Him so that we can destroy our previous lives’ deeds and become able to obtain the stage of permanent peace and happiness i.e., moksh (Salvation). You see, nobody wants sorrows and sorrows are never destroyed until a person worships God.

If we want respect, then we must first respect others. Such moral duties have been explained in Vedas, please.

Yes, if a person even gets small amount of money yet he feels satisfaction that he is nursing his family. If a person is sick and having headache. Headache gets relieved immediately after taking medicine then he feels peace for sometime. It means happiness and peace, if however is achieved even for sometime, the person enjoys.

So, if such happiness and peace is achieved for long-long years i.e., for millions of years then will anybody think it to be bad for him or it would create problem for him? So, we all must thank God and always worship Him. Because worship is not a matter of animals, birds etc., except human-beings.
